Overdose does not discriminate. It can affect anyone. Stigma keeps people silent, isolated, and unsafe. That’s why we need to come together to listen, learn, and stand up against stigma and overdose. August 27 | George St. (Shelter House) | 11am-2pm

🚨🔥 Public Service Announcement: A Working Smoke Alarm Saves Lives, Even from Fires Outside Your Home!
A fire can happen anywhere, anytime, and it doesn’t have to start inside your house to be a danger. Outdoor fires, such as a grass fire or a forest fire, can send smoke and deadly toxins into your home before flames ever reach your door.

That’s where your smoke alarm comes in. A properly working smoke alarm detects smoke particles, warning you early enough to escape safely and call for help. Without it, you might not know there's danger outside until it's too late.

Make sure your smoke alarm is ready to protect you:
🔹 Test your alarms monthly.
🔹 Replace batteries at least once a year or consider installing an alarm with a 10-year battery.
🔹 Ensure you have alarms on every level of your home and outside of every sleeping area.
🔹 Never ignore a smoke alarm, even if you don’t see flames.

A working smoke alarm isn't just for indoor fires — it can be a lifesaver in unexpected outdoor emergencies, too! Stay prepared, stay safe.
