Later, after my husband was in a deep post-coital snore session, I wished I was sleepy too, so I mixed up some valerian root, skullcap leaf and passionflower. Slept like a very satisfied baby. ๐Ÿ˜ด

It turns out nothing quite kills your mojo like a global pandemic ๐Ÿ˜ถ Who knew? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

At first glance it seems ironic that our self care should take such a backseat when we are spending so much time at home... ๐Ÿšฟ ๐Ÿ˜ด ๐Ÿ“บ โณ

But I have a theory.

I don't think it's our social lives that get in the way of our health rituals, I think it's our isolation.

It's so obvious now how much our loved ones ignite that spark within us. That makes us feel *alive*.

Think of something you did today for your health, anything. Maybe you just had 3 bites more of salad, or poured out the rest of your late afternoon coffee. It *counts*, and I'm celebrating it with you.

Having a community of people around to witness your small victories is essential, and it's so obvious after this crazy year (and a half).

On the daily, I hand out *exquisite* treatment plans ๐Ÿ“‘ to smart, vibrant women. They work SO hard, and I wish I could call them up every morning and say:

***'Good for you! you took your herbs this morning, even though you were rushed and they taste terrible. Keep it up, your anxiety will come down in just a few more days"***

But my practice has seen almost 1000 people in my local community, and I can't provide that level of support. BUT YOU CAN โœจ

Want to know the ancient secret to beauty and longevity? You guessed it, the answer is REST.

Our culture teaches us that our value is derived from what we DO, and we have forgotten how to be. Our chronically under-rested world is making us all weary, and sick.

Sleep is a powerful form of rest, but there are other ways, and they can be taught. I believe learning to rest is a skill.

My favorite way to teach rest is yoga nidra (have you heard of this!?)

Yoga nidra is the meditation of sleep. In this practice you'll watch yourself pass through the layers of consciousness and learn to navigate that pathway. It's fabulous, and I believe a rested culture will save the world.

Tomorrow morning Sensei Susan & I are teaching our second mini-retreat at Surprise lake, 11am.

We are taking a group through a sequence of movements designed to open our bodies to our warrior energies and then unwind ourselves down into a delicious yoga nidra, set to the tune of tibetan singing bowls.

Movement means more than exercise. It means safely exploring the full range of motion of your spine and joints, and pumping new blood flow to the very edges of your body.

I am teaching yoga for female health and giving my playbook of resources for using yoga throughout the cyclical experience of female life.

Susan is bringing all ๐™จ๐™ž๐™ญ degrees of her blackbelt to teach martial arts inspired by the wild woman archetype, with a sword workout that will leave us all feeling stunningly powerful.
