The Thunder Bay Hand & Upper Limb Clinic is a multi-disciplinary private facility treating all hands, elbow, shoulder injuries throughout a region of over 250,000 people. Our clients are 80% post-operative, usually more complex conditions requiring specialized skills including: wound care, splinting, manual therapy techniques, and sensory-motor assessment. Close communication with surgeons, of which we have a group of 5 who operate exclusively on the upper limb, is required.

As a new Occupational Therapist in our clinic, you would be embarking on a challenging career trajectory. We will help you become an incredibly important member of the team, two Occupational Therapist's (including a Certified Hand Therapist), two Physiotherapist's, and surgeons. Salaried position of $40-45, monthly education rounds, participation in a WSIB Specialty Clinic, ongoing continuing education ($2000/yr budget pp), and a generous benefits plan are all included.

You will have a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and accredited to work in Ontario. We require your services within the next 2 months. Our group will be excited to mentor new grads with less than one year's experience as well.

Our Story

Our facility is a private clinic and is fee-for-service based. OHIP does not cover the costs of therapy in private clinics. Only hospital-based therapy is covered by OHIP.

Our staff consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists and Physio Assistants. We accept claims from WSIB, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Extended Health Benefits and Self paying clients. Injured workers usually have full coverage including custom splinting, C.P.M. devices, monthly reports, dressings and bandages. Extended Health Benefit patients or their spouses who are employed full-time usually have sufficient coverage for occupational/physiotherapy services, including custom splints. Please ask your insurance adjuster for coverage information, and if a Doctors referral is required.
