Well I am absolutely thrilled to post this beautiful woman and one of my very BEST FRIEND'S testimony today!

She came to me wanting to lose some weight for an upcoming vacation but more importantly just to get into a better eating and workout routine.

She did not have a lot of weight to lose so it was more about inches lost so she set a small goal of 5 pounds and we did progress pics in her bathing suit so she could try it on every few weeks to see and feel the difference.

Well with a lot of hard work and dedication and very little restriction Ann lost 10 pounds by the end of her 6 weeks and has continued to keep it off all on her own.

She obviously knows I am only a text away as we are very close friends but she is now armed with a program and a routine that works with her busy life of working two jobs.

I am just so proud of this girl for making the time and showing up for herself in these last 6 weeks. She has got stronger in mind and body!

SPEND 10 starts today! If you haven't picked up your calendar you can grab one at the Leisure Centre this week!πŸ—“

ALL you have to do is SPEND 10 min a day doing physical activity and write it down...from walking to biking to going to class. That's it.😁

AND if you do it consistently for the next 5 weeks not only will you be entered into the DRAW for the GIFT BASKET but you will feel AMAZING because you will be STRONGER because of it! πŸ’ͺ

At the Leisure Centre we just completed a 6 week strength training program called "EMPOWER" and along with it interested ladies participated in a Fitness Bingo where they had to set goals and check them off as they completed them. A full card got them TWO draw tickets and half got them ONE.
I'm pleased to announce that MANDY and TRACY were the winners, each getting $100 to spend on classes or nutrition coaching! Woo hoo!

Even if they didn't win, the ladies that participated absolutely did WIN with so many achievements such as:
-Trying out a new class such as Cardio Drums which can always cause some anxiety of the unknown
-Committing to 150 min of movement every single week
-Adding a Cardio class at Just Move into their routine each week to go along with their strength training
-Attending at least 1 class per week
-Trying out new recipes
-Improving the number of push-ups they can do in a minute
-Increasing their weights for CHEST PRESS and SQUATS
-Improving their TIME for planks
-Losing inches
-Setting and crushing personal goals
-Committing to drinking more water, no nighttime snacks, less chocolate, decreased wine consumption, more protein etc

Going to classes every week is AWESOME but setting a 6 week goal along with going to classes is EVEN BETTER because then you will focus a little harder on your weight selection in class, work more movement into your day, be more mindful of what you put in your mouth and by the end you will not only feel stronger but you WILL BE!!

Our next 6 weeks started this week, called THRIVE because we don't want to just SURVIVE as we age we want to THRIVE in our 30s, 40s, 50s and BEYOND!! With this program we are working on consistency with a SPEND 10 Incentive. All you need to do for this one is Spend 10 minutes a day actively doing exercise whether that is going to a class, doing a home circuit, going for a jog, or even walking!! This 5 week challenge starts Sunday and will be a great reminder to all of the ladies to move their body every single day.

Our first running session is in the books!
The ladies did:
-A five min warm up and cool down
-1 min walk, 1 min jog x10.

They all did amazing!

Next run is Thursday at 630 pm.

*Join the 8 week series for $129.
*Sign up by the run with your punchcard.

With the series you get tips, tricks, all of the group runs you want (up to 24) and accountability and support in a private group.

Happy Easter Sunday!
We have a busy week ahead with lots of NEW things starting!

Our THRIVE strength training program starts tomorrow! We changed up the formats, rearranged the exercises and we are ready to work you hard for the next 6 weeks!

Just DRUMS had such great feedback as pop ups that it is now on every Tuesday night at 5 pm. So much fun and such a great sweat!!

Our Train to Run 5K program starts Tuesday. Even if you didn't sign up for the 8 weeks you are welcome to use your punchcard and join us when you can. This week is 1 min walk, 1 min jog x 20 with 5 min warm up and cool down!

Lisa is now doing 'Just Sculpt' on Thursday nights at 5 pm so a perfect night to either make up a missed Monday or Wednesday or get a third strength class in for the week.

Last night we did a PLANK Challenge at the Leisure Centre. The girls could choose knees or toes, high or low and I timed how long they could stay in a plank.

This was at the end of our 'Empower' 6 Week Strength Training program so the girls could compare themselves to the only person that matters...THEMSELVES....looking at how long they could plank 6 weeks ago compared to now!

AND guess what? I had to STOP the challenge at 4 min 30 seconds with three amazing ladies ANGELE, SUSAN and PENNY who were still going...as we did have to go home! BUT even if they didn't make this huge accomplishment most of the ladies improved their plank time by a few seconds to a lot ....which shows that what they are doing with their strength training routine IS WORKING! Woo hooo!

Planks are so easy to practice...as you can do them anywhere anytime! They have so many benefits such as strengthening your CORE, improving your POSTURE, enhancing your BALANCE and reducing BACK PAIN!

You can do them at the gym or in front of the TV...it really doesn't matter!

So ...practice your plank. Set a timer, see where you are, and test it every few weeks and you will be impressed at how much longer you can last!

AND no...I don't always do planks in HIGH HEELED BOOTS...but it did look good in this photoshoot didn't it? lol

TWO new CLASS alerts for April starting next WEEK!!
1) The Train to run 8 Week series starts next week and we have added a Thursday night training in at 6:30 pm to support the full-time workers with options. You can choose 0, 1, 2 or do all 3 group runs per week as we give you the accountability and support you need with or without the group. Even if you have already paid for the Train to Run you still need to sign up for your sessions on the app so we know you are coming to class that night! It is going to be an EPIC running series and there are still a couple of spots left just for YOU!

2) Starting next week we are offering a FREE walking group at Lighthouse Cove called 'Walk and Talk' on Thursdays at 9:30 am. We will start from my house and walk for approximately 45 min around beautiful Lighthouse Cove. All levels, dogs on a leash and kids in strollers are welcome. You do have to sign up so we know you are coming even though the class is FREE of charge.

I had the absolute pleasure of coaching my FAVOURITE GIRL in the world aka my daughter Elizabeth since January 5! She is not only an amazing daughter but was a fabulous client...checking in daily, meeting her targets, asking questions & learning to navigate her busy life as a lawyer with weekly networking events as well as personal social activities. She exceeded her 15 pound goal, losing 20 pounds in 10 short weeks!

Here is her testimony:

I just wrapped up 10 weeks of nutritional coaching with my Mom and I am happy to share that I am down 20 pounds and feeling good. It is crazy to think of a 20 pound weight and the fact that back in January I was carrying that additional weight around everyday.

Shell has created a program that is easy to follow and does not involve significant macro tracking or intensive exercising. Everyday you track your steps, water intake and make sure that you get protein, fibrous carbs and healthy fats!

I may be biased, but my Mom is an incredible coach. She’s supportive, motivating and makes things easy. I am proud to call her my Mom and happy to have had her guiding me through this journey ❀

Happy Saturday!
We have a great line up of classes for our last week of the EMPOWER strength training program!!
Please note:
*If there is a wait-list feel free to add your name still as spots always become available!
*If you can't make your regular evening class at the Leisure Centre sign up for either the morning class at Just Move or book in a different day at the studio! The Sculpt & Tabata classes are April features and only $12 a class with no membership required!!
*Just Tabata on Tuesday at 9:30 am and 5 pm will once again be BARRE inspired as I work to complete my certification!
*Lisa Desjardins Myers will be teaching Just Sculpt on Thursday nights at 5 pm now at the studio so it is a perfect way to get your 3rd STRENGTH workout in for the week or catch up on a missed one!
*I am running a special 'Bunny Bootcamp' on Good Friday at 9:30 am.
*I am covering for the Pilates instructor on Saturday morning at 9 am if you would like to get a CORE focused workout in before your Easter festivities begin.
*Easter Monday classes will run per usual with me at 9:30 am at Just Move and 6:15 pm at the Leisure Centre so pick the time that works best for you!
