What do all of these people have in common? ME! lol They did a nutrition coaching program with me over the past year and rocked their program and you can see how happy they were with their results by the smile on their face!

Do you know what else they have in common? They worked hard to incorporate the plan that I gave them into their lifestyle...they did not have to give up wine, chips, chocolate or whatever their vice may be...they learned to incorporate it into their life and make it work for them.

As the most important indicator of a successful 'diet' aka nutrition program is not one that Aunt Suzy lost 50 pounds on or Cousin Martha dropped 3 sizes on...but one that worked for YOU and YOU alone. As then not only will you lose the weight but sustain it!

I am officially Pickleball years old as I have fallen in love with this game. I set up a free and funzies Tuesday night ladies league for beginners this summer and today we had a tournament to celebrate all that we have learned about this fun game!!

Such an absolute blast with an amazing group of women this morning. The weather cooperated so well and we finished off the morning with a Yummy potluck lunch.

Get out and get active is the name of the game as you don't get old because of a number you get old because you stop moving!! So I am planning on being here until I'm 100.

So much in store for Fall here in Lighthouse Cove/Tilbury area.

We cater to everybody and every BODY!

Want to learn to run? Train to Run starts this week for 8 weeks!

Love Pilates? Join Leanne on Monday night at Cove's Landing at 7 pm this week and she will be back again Sept 29 at the same time.

Want to do a strength training program but don't know where to start, can't afford a PT or just like to work out in a group? We have STRENGTH classes Monday nights at 6 pm and Tuesday morning at 9 am at Cove's Landing as well as Wednesday night at 6 pm at the Tilbury Leisure Centre.

Love a CORE focused class that is yoga and pilates inspired? We have Butts & Guts on Wednesday nights at 7 pm at the Tilbury Leisure Centre and Tabata Core and More on Thursdays at 11 am at Lion's Park in Lighthouse Cove. We also have a special pop up Core class on Monday Sept 22 at 10:30 am at the Tilbury Legion!!

Love YOGA? We have Yoga on Monday night at 7 pm on September 15 and 22 at Cove's Landing AND a very special Yoga event "Embodied Peace" on Sept 21 from 7-8:30 pm at the TIlbury Leisure Centre.

I am so excited to introduce to you the latest member of our fitness team, LISA MYERS!! She is currently team teaching a number of classes with me as part of her training and learning things like:
+Randomly stop the timer because you want everyone to experience more fun at the station! ⏰
+Count down the last exercise as slow as possible as no one wants the class to end! 2️⃣2️⃣2️⃣2️⃣2️⃣
+Tell the class that it is the last exercise knowing full well that they really want ONE more before the leave! πŸ™‹
+Hand heavier weights to people who look like they need more of a challenge just to be nice! βšβ–ˆβ•β•β–ˆβš

These are all important tips and an integral part of training here at GFS! 😎

Now let's learn a little about her:
A lifelong advocate for health and wellness, Lisa is a former fitness instructor and retired professor who is excited to return to the fitness industry. With years of experience motivating others through movement and education, she has completed multiple marathons and proudly qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon in 2017.
As a long-distance runner and seasoned educator, Lisa brings a unique blend of athletic insight and teaching expertise to every class.Now reentering the fitness world, she is committed to helping others reach their goals through motivation, movement, and mindful training.

We are also excited to have Lisa also lead the upcoming TRAIN TO RUN 5K series because as you can see this girl can RUN and she has been working hard over the past few weeks setting up the training series so that everyone who joins is successful.

Please join me in welcoming her to the team!!!

If you learn NOTHING from me this year except to take it slow and start from where you are well that you will have remembered the best advice I could ever give you.

Most people FAIL on a diet not because they are failures or the diet is wrong but because they try to change EVERYTHING at once and that is what fails.

So take a look at where you are before and focus on moving just ONE or TWO levers at a time, get them to optimal levels AND then move on to a new one.

You will be amazed at how easy it is to incorporate this into your life no matter how busy you are and then you will not only start losing weight slowly and surely but more importantly your health is going to improve GREATLY!!!

Happy September and back to school for teachers and students!

Once you get your life settled into your 'back to school' routine, September definitely is the best time to START or in most cases RESTART your fitness journey.

After the craziness of summer with weeks at the cottage, weekends by the pool or backyard pool parties it may have just felt there was always something getting in the way of your nutrition plan and/or exercise regime.

So September gives you the opportunity to get back into a good routine!

And as I always say...start small with one or two things and then ADD as you start mastering each habit created. If you try to overhaul everything you are going to find yourself restarting again in October and beyond.

So pick one or two things such as ..

*I am going to go to the gym two days a week
*I am going to walk for 30 min every day
*I am going to have protein at every meal and snack
*I am going to drink more water
*I am only going to drink alcohol on weekends

AND if you start slow you will build habits that are easy to fit into your lifestyle and then you will start to see results that will last a lifetime.

Good morning and happy Labour Day weekend! Crazy to believe we are here once again at the end of summer!

There will be no classes on Monday due to the holiday therefore the September strength training program and classes starts on TUESDAY!

Please note:
*We now have two classes on Wednesday night with the popular Strength Circuit class moving to 6 pm.
* We have a POP UP Yoga class downtown Tilbury on Wednesday night with Cheryl at 7pm and this time-slot will have a 'Butts and Guts' class moving forward with pop-up yoga once a month if interest is there.
*We have a Ladies' Pickleball tournament next weekend & Potluck lunch.
*Our Train to Run 8 Week series begins in just over a week
*On September 18 we have a Paddles & Pours event. This is our last Paddle event of the season
*On September 21 in honour of International Day of Peace we are hosting an 'Embodied Peace' Yoga event with Cheryl at the Tilbury Leisure Centre

So many exciting ways to show your body love this September with classes for everyone!
