Meeting my global tribe in person ๐ŸŒŽโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

I recently returned from my trip to Tallinn, Estonia, to attend the Supercoach event hosted by Mindvalley. ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ช

If you had asked me 3 years ago if I saw myself making such deep connections with fellow coaches and my students/clients from all over the world, the answer would have been NOT POSSIBLE. ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธโ›”๏ธ

Donโ€™t get me wrong. I did have friends from different parts of the world too then, although not as many as now.

๐Ÿค” But before, it was because we met in person first and spent some quality time together that we decided to keep in touch.

๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ฌ With my current community and support groups, it was because we met online first, going through certifications, practice labs, and programs together as classmates/students/clients of mine or working together as lab coaches, that we developed such a great bond and rapport that we had the desire to meet in person, which helped to solidify the relationship.

Those in-person meetings that took place in Tallinn didnโ€™t feel awkward. It was so natural that I felt like I was speaking with old friends and kindred spirits. ๐Ÿ’ž

Sure, I was there to attend the event, as well as being a volunteer to help out. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŽฝ

I also got to see my mentors and teachers shine on stage, doing what they do best to inspire us. ๐Ÿคฉ

The main draw really were the people. ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m grateful that such an opportunity was created by Mindvalley Events to help me stay aligned with my higher purpose and to deepen my connections and practice. ๐Ÿ™

Here is to continued collaboration and co-elevation. ๐Ÿฅ‚

Thank you to everyone who took their time to reach out and share their knowledge, expertise, and experiences with me, as well as letting me know that I have helped them in any way. ๐Ÿ’ซโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

The shortest Iโ€™ve ever had. ๐Ÿซฃ

Feel like Iโ€™m a completely different person.

Time for exploration and experimentation in this new look and phase of my life. ๐Ÿ™

I was recently interviewed by fellow MV certified coach facebook.com/LuPier.angel.i about how self-care can translate into all areas of our total wellbeing from the microbiome to the macrobiome.

In our short discussion, we explored how our daily choices, from what we eat to the thoughts we cultivate, not only impact our personal well-being but also have profound effects on the health of our planet. ๐ŸŒ

Self-care is not just about getting a massage, a spa treatment or sleeping in. It is about how to nurture positive thoughts, affirmations, and food choices to make our immediate environment healthier. โ˜ฏ๏ธ

We also spoke about the importance of detoxifying personal care products and using natural cleaning alternatives to minimize exposure to harmful chemicals. That also includes the quality of our drinking water and opting for safer cookware and food storage options to further reduce toxin exposure. โ˜ฃ๏ธ

Many resource links are also provided in the show note section under the video to help you continue down a healthier path. Hope you find them useful and insightful. ๐Ÿ™

Would love to hear your thoughts below when you have a chance to watch. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Farmerโ€™s Market is back! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ

So great to see so many people at the opening too. ๐Ÿ‘

Living in the North, we donโ€™t have the same growing season as the South. ๐Ÿ˜…๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿชด

Iโ€™ve been counting the days for the Farmerโ€™s Market to return. โณ๐Ÿคž

Even though most of their products are still growing in their green houses, it was just so good to be able to see and reconnect with my farming friends. โค๏ธ

And to meeting a couple of new vendors (whom I didnโ€™t meet or have missed last year.) ๐Ÿค

I got some green tomatoes ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ… to try for the first time and a new bug-bite cream with all natural & real ingredients (you know we need it in the North! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐ŸฆŸ), and whatever else from the first batch of the harvest (sprouts, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, eggs, and maple syrup). ๐Ÿ™

Canโ€™t wait until the harvest season is in full swing. โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿซถ

Nutrition is not learned in school and barely covered in medical schools.

So important to know what you eat, when you eat, how you eat and how much you eat. โค๏ธ

Wellness is everywhere in our culture today, yet many of us are sicker than ever.

Sadly, real nutrition isn't a focus in our education system. Our medical professionals often aren't trained to use food as medicine, and we are bombarded with misinformation from the fast-food and pharmaceutical industries. Chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity are at all-time highs, affecting millions and leading to preventable deaths.๐Ÿ˜”

It's time to reclaim our health! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Understanding nutrition and adopting a healthy lifestyle can transform your life. There's no universal solution for everyone, and the sea of conflicting dietary advice online can be overwhelming. ๐Ÿคฏ

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Mindful Eating: Nourishing Body and Soul for Busy Women ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿ™Žโ€โ™€๏ธAs we navigate the complexities of work and home life, our attention is often divided, leading to rushed meals and eating on the go. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿงณโœˆ๏ธ

๐Ÿช‘ But taking the time to sit down and savor our food can help us feel more grounded and present, reducing stress and promoting better digestion.

โค๏ธ Let's reclaim mealtime as a moment of self-care and nourishment.

๐Ÿฅ—๐ŸดBy engaging all five senses in the dining experienceโ€”seeing, smelling, tasting, hearing, and touchingโ€”we can cultivate a deeper connection to our food and ourselves.

๐Ÿ“ณ Research suggests that distracted eating can contribute to weight gain and digestive issues.

๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธConsuming meals mindfully can lead to reduced calorie intake and improved nutrient absorption, offering potential benefits for those who may be grappling with weight management and gut health.

Let's prioritize ourselves and our health, one mindful bite at a time. ๐Ÿ˜‹

You'll be surprised how much it can help with weight management without doing any hard diets or calorie counting. ๐Ÿ˜

Together, we can cultivate a nourishing relationship with food and reclaim our well-being. ๐Ÿ™

Havenโ€™t posted much lately on social media. ๐Ÿ˜…

Was on a digital LOW-TOX diet. ๐Ÿ“ต

As there is no more the snow and the sun is rising earlier and setting later these days, Iโ€™m really enjoying my time outdoors. ๐Ÿž๏ธ

Especially when itโ€™s in the company of my friends. โค๏ธ

Weekend is coming too.

Hope you get to spend it with your loved ones or with activities you enjoy or with time to relax and enjoy what nature has to offer. ๐Ÿ™

Are you a long-time follower of Food Matters and my health transformation journey? ๐Ÿค”

If so, you know that we aren't taught about real nutrition in school. ๐Ÿฅบ

We have a medical profession that is rarely trained to use food as medicine, and the multi-billion dollar fast-food and pharmaceutical industries thrive on misleading consumers. โ˜น๏ธ

Now it's time to take our power back! ๐Ÿ’ช

The Food Matters Instituteโ€™s Nutrition Certification Program is here to alleviate your overwhelm and hours spent seeking support, to help you transform your health and life, and to help others do the same. โค๏ธ

As a former graduate and current student ambassador, I highly recommend this program even if you do not want to become a coach. ๐Ÿ‘

They have just opened up their first enrollment intake for the year, so if youโ€™d like to be part of this next cohort of students, donโ€™t miss this! Enroll before midnight PT on March 21 to lock in a special enrollment price + over $7,000 in bonuses! ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

Taking on the Dragon (trail) in the year of the Dragon and first day of March. ๐Ÿ‰

Such a beautiful and warm day (-1 degree Celsius) โ˜€๏ธ to take on the most difficult trail at ski runners.

My friend Joanne and I were breaking the trail. ๐Ÿ™Œ

With the fresh snowfall and no one having been on the trail, we could talk and hear each other properly, without hearing the loud crunching sound of ice. ๐ŸงŠ๐Ÿ‘‚

Fresh powder baby! โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ˜

It is not a long trail, but challenging for the twists and turns + ups and downs. ๐Ÿ’ช

Joanne even made me lead the way today. ๐Ÿ˜…

I think I did ok. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This experience brought me to realize some parallels between navigating through trails and life. ๐Ÿค”

When we are made the leader, we pay more attention to our surroundings by:
1๏ธโƒฃ searching for a path that has wider openings,
2๏ธโƒฃ looking for tools that can assist in the climb or descent if needed,
3๏ธโƒฃ watching out for any potential falls up ahead,
4๏ธโƒฃ checking in with the team from time to time to ensure we are still in pace,
5๏ธโƒฃ discussing if we need to modify our initial plan,
6๏ธโƒฃ scanning for signs/markers left by the previous trail breakers,

And, not forgetting to take time to enjoy the new vista points along the way and cherish how far weโ€™ve come. ๐Ÿ‘€โค๏ธ

I really enjoyed this little challenge today. โœŒ๏ธ

So grateful to have Joanne guiding me and accompanying me on all my new trail adventures. ๐Ÿ™

Snow Moon Rising. ๐ŸŒ•

It is also the Lantern Festival, marking the end of the Lunar New Year Festival. ๐Ÿฎ

The lanterns can symbolize people letting go of their past selves and getting new ones.

Another possible origin is the celebration of "the declining darkness of winter" and community's ability to "move about at night with human-made light (i.e. lanterns.)โ€

In North American indigenous cultures and some European cultures, it may have been associated with rituals or ceremonies to prepare for the coming spring, ensure a prosperous agricultural season, or ward off evil spirits during the cold months. ๐Ÿ“š

Today is also great day to set some intentions for the new year and the upcoming spring:

๐Ÿ‘‰1๏ธโƒฃ Reflect on the past or this past year on what you need to let go off.๐Ÿค”
๐Ÿ‘‰2๏ธโƒฃ What do you want to cultivate and invite into your life in the new year? ๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ‘‰3๏ธโƒฃ What are you grateful for? ๐Ÿ™
๐Ÿ‘‰4๏ธโƒฃ Meditate or visualize yourself doing what you have set out to do, as if you were already there. ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ
๐Ÿ‘‰5๏ธโƒฃ Speak it. Write it down. Or journal it. ๐Ÿ“
๐Ÿ‘‰6๏ธโƒฃ If you wrote it down on a piece of paper, burn it and let it go. ๐Ÿ”ฅTrust that the universe has your back. ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ’ซ
๐Ÿ‘‰7๏ธโƒฃ What is the small first step you can take toward your vision? And take it. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

No matter what your beliefs are, the winter months, in the old days when people couldnโ€™t do much outside, was the perfect time for self-reflection, recuperation, and planning for the upcoming year.

Syncing with nature and following its natural rhythms help us to see that much of our life is cyclical. ๐Ÿ”„

Even with profits and growth of corporations, it is not a straight line all the time. ๐Ÿ“Š

The constricting periods are the springboards for us to reach new heights. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

What are some of your intentions for the new year? What action steps have you taken?๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ‘‡

It was freezing today but sunny! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

We went from +2 degrees Celsius yesterday to -21 degrees this morning. ๐Ÿฅถ

From print to real life. ๐Ÿ˜ป

With the arrival of the lunar new year of the Dragon, it was adviced by many Feng Shui masters to head north to welcome the new energy into our lives.

So we did and went to Cochrane Polar Bear Habit in Cochrane, Ontario, Canada. ๐Ÿปโ€โ„๏ธ

We have a Morrisseau print of โ€œSacred Bear Healerโ€ at home for many years. โค๏ธ

For fun, when I last did a โ€˜spiritual animalโ€™ test, I had the traits of a โ€˜Bearโ€™ as well. ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‰

I saw polar bears before, in Sea World in San Diego(before she passed away) and in the Toronto Zoo.

The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat functions as a sanctuary for polar bears in need. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

It provides them with access to a natural environment that changes with the seasons.
The bears can freely interact with their environment by swimming, digging, pulling out vegetation, or moving things around. ๐Ÿ™Œ

We met Amy, the manager of the habit, who, originally from Australia, has been in Cochrane for nearly 10 years. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Her love for the polar bears really showed and she took time to answer a lot of our questions. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

With only about 25,000 polar bears left in the world and 15,000 of them in Canada, Iโ€™m grateful that there is such habit available to them. ๐Ÿ™

So that we can continue to ensure those magnificent animals can thrive and not be a victim of climate change. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

We also visited the Snowmobile museum to see the evolution of snowmobiles and the Cochrane Heritage Village.๐Ÿ˜

It was a nice Sunday outing. Iโ€™m happy we went and I learned even more about the wide spread effects of climate change. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ๐ŸŒช๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

Rain on a winter day and lunar New Yearโ€™s Eve!โ˜”๏ธโ„๏ธ๐Ÿฒ

My friend Joanne and I still managed to go out on the trails today, even though it was slippery and rainingโ€ฆ ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

We didnโ€™t use our snowshoes bc they would be damaged. Instead, she brought me a pair of grippers to go over my hiking boots. ๐Ÿ™

This has been a winter full of broken records, for being the warmest. โ™จ๏ธ

Many winter sport enthusiasts havenโ€™t been able to do their recreational winter activities consistently like snowshoeing, cross-country/downhill skiing, snowmobiling, ice-fishing and more. ๐Ÿฅบ

For those of us living in the โ€˜great white Northโ€™, this may feel like a relief from the long and cold winter.

But reduced snowfall and less snow cover on the ground could diminish the beneficial insulating effects of snow for vegetation and wildlife, while also affecting water supplies, transportation, cultural practices, and travel, besides recreation mentioned earlier. (Sourced from https://www.epa.gov/)

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰Snow is free. โ„๏ธ Water is free. ๐Ÿ’ฆAir is free. ๐Ÿ’จ

The free things are almost always the most precious and have been taken for granted. ๐Ÿ™

Itโ€™s the โ€œAlmost ALWAYS FREE stuff, like water and air, volunteers, Wikipedia, EWG (Environmental Working Group), kindness of strangers, and much more, that we need to spotlight them even more. ๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ”†

What would happen on the day when none of the above exists any more? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Who are the people doing much of the work behind the scenes or unpaid in your community? Or anything else you know we have taken for granted? ๐Ÿง

Who/what would you like to highlight? ๐Ÿคฉ Please share with me below. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡
