With the snow seemingly here to stay, it’s important to treat shovelling just like any other physical activity. Keep these tips in mind throughout the winter to help reduce the risk of injury or discomfort:
❄ Take a few minutes to stretch warm up your muscles before you begin
❄ Choose a shovel that feels comfortable and fits your body
❄ Alternate hand positions regularly to give each arm a break
❄ Bend at the knees rather than the waist to protect your back
❄ Whenever possible, push the snow instead of lifting it
