Coldest Night of the Year is more than just a walk, it’s a chance to stand in solidarity with those in our community who are facing hunger, homelessness, and hardship. ❄️💙

This year, we’re proud to be fundraising in support of the Timmins Anti-Hunger Coalition, whose work helps ensure people in our community have access to nutritious food and support during challenging times.

Every donation, share and step taken helps create warmth, connection, and hope. Thank you for walking with us, donating, and helping make a real difference 💙

Grief doesn’t always come from death.

It can come from:
• The end of a relationship you hoped would last
• Losing yourself after becoming a parent
• The future you imagined while facing infertility
• A job or role that once gave you purpose

These losses are often invisible, which can make them heavier to carry. You may feel sad, irritable, numb, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. You don’t have to make sense of it alone; therapy can help you process the loss and reconnect with yourself.

Let’s clear up the confusion: What exactly is Art Therapy? 🎨🧠

It’s easy to confuse "therapeutic art-making" (like winding down with a coloring book on a Friday night) with actual clinical Art Therapy. Both are great, but they aren't the same thing!

Swipe through 👉 to learn the fundamentals of this powerful mental health modality.

The biggest takeaway? You absolutely do not need to consider yourself an "artist" to benefit from art therapy. It’s not about making a masterpiece; it’s about making sense of your inner world when words just won't cut it.

Meet Max!

Max is training in Art Psychotherapy, integrating creative approaches to support emotional expression, identity exploration, and well-being. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or concerned they are “behind” feelings often shaped by societal expectations, power dynamics, and systems that may not honour neurodiversity or lived experience.

Taking a feminist, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming approach, Max values collaboration, choice, and client autonomy. They work with clients across the lifespan, supporting exploration through creative expression and reflective practice in ways that feel accessible, validating, and empowering. Max strives to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported in building self-trust, agency and ease.

Max is also a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist with over five years of experience supporting children, youth, and adults in community, clinical, and remote Indigenous settings.

Today in our A to Z coping skills series, we have Zoning out mindfully of course.

Yes, zoning out can be a coping skill if done mindfully.

Sometimes your brain just needs a break. From thinking. From fixing. From doing.

Watching clouds.
Listening to a song on repeat.
Staring out the window.
Even scrolling memes mindfully.
Not every moment has to be productive.

Sometimes you cope best by not coping for a moment.
The key? Make it intentional.
Zone out, but don’t check out.

💭 You’re the one everyone relies on.
You manage the schedules, the emotions, the meals, the appointments, for your children, your partner, and often your parents too.
But lately…
• You’re irritable and short-tempered
• You feel disorganized and overwhelmed
• Communication with your partner feels strained
• You’re feeling disconnected from yourself and the relationships that matter most
💔 You might be feeling exhausted… and wondering where the old you went.
✨ This is where counselling can help.

Our Registered Psychotherapist, Kayla Williams, is here as a steady guide offering a safe, supportive space where burnt-out moms can:
✔ Release the weight they’ve been carrying alone
✔ Reconnect with themselves beneath the roles
✔ Learn healthier ways to communicate and set boundaries
✔ Restore emotional balance and rediscover joy
This isn’t about doing more or trying harder.
It’s about being supported, feeling understood, and coming back home to yourself.

🌱 You don’t have to keep running on empty. Life can feel lighter again.

Meet Meghan our Intern Psychotherapist,

Meghan is completing her clinical placement with us. She is currently finishing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, where she is developing a grounded, compassionate, and client-centred approach to therapy.

She strives to create a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences. She believes that therapy is a collaboration which ensures the client feels comfortable and in control of their own life. Everyone’s experiences are different; therefore, each approach will be tailored to the unique needs of each person.

Today in our A to Z coping skills series, we have Yoga.

Yoga isn't just stretching, it’s self-regulation in motion.

It connects breath, body, and awareness, reducing anxiety, calming the nervous system, and restoring presence.
You don’t need flexibility.
You don’t need fancy poses.
You just need a few quiet minutes and a mat (or floor).
