Timmins Family Counselling Centre/Centre de counselling familial de Timmins
The Timmins Family Counselling Centre provides a variety of counselling services in both official languages. Registered charity. to 4:30 p.m.
Our services are offered to individuals 12 and up who seek to overcome challenges or grow. As part of this community, we know that people have endured a ton – whether that be the add up of daily stuff or the really big stuff on top of the daily stuff. As such, we offer the following bilingual supportive and/or psychotherapy services to ages twelve and up to those who are located in Timmins and surrounding areas: mental wellness/prevention; professional mental health inclusive of Employee Assistance Programs; anxiety/low mood; and trauma. Furthermore, please note that we have individual, couples, and family counselling. Additionally, we provide a myriad of educational services inclusive of workshops and group education sessions to workplaces. Through ministry funding, we have the following programming: Partner Assault Response; Direct Accountability, and tools/psychotherapy for those who have experienced harm/trauma. Individuals may self-refer; no diagnosis required; and we are open to 8:30 a.m. from Monday to Friday with evening appointments available upon request. The initial intake is free of charge. We know that paying for counselling/support can be a barrier, and we know that not everyone may qualify for ministry funding or have benefits; that said, we have some amazing partners: United Way, The Timmins Charitable Gaming Association, and RBC Financial. Through these partners and direct public donations, we try to help as many as we can have accessible care/support.

Leaving an abusive relationship is never simple. Survivors face fear, financial barriers, stigma, and risks to their safety and their children’s wellbeing. Emotional abuse can be just as devastating as physical violence, leaving survivors with deep scars of fear, shame, and self-doubt that outsiders cannot see.
Every survivor’s story is shaped by fear, pressure, and impossible choices. See the reality at www.stayingisntchoosing.ca.

Today we remember the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

Aujourd’hui, nous commémorons les enfants qui ne sont jamais retournés à la maison, les survivants des pensionnats, ainsi que leurs familles et leurs communautés.

Leaving an abusive relationship is never simple. Survivors face fear, financial barriers, stigma, and risks to their safety and their children’s wellbeing. Many stay because of threats, fear of losing children, or risks of homelessness — not because the abuse isn’t serious.
You’ve mastered the art of powering through headaches, heartbreak, exhaustion.
But here’s the truth: you’re not meant to carry it all without care.
Real strength isn’t pretending everything’s fine. It’s knowing when to ask for support.
Your mental health matters just as much as everything you show up for.
Do something for yourself and your well-being today. Book your first counselling appointment with us at: www.timminsfcc.ca

Take a deep breath and ask yourself:
What’s one thing I’m feeling right now and why?
Have I made time for rest or joy this week?
Is there something I need to say to someone?
Is there someone I need to reach out to right now?
Checking in on yourself and those around holds great value.
Need support? Call us at 705-267-7333 or visit www.timminsfcc.ca to learn more about our services.
