Hi, I'm Caitlyn. This month is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Month.

Stay tuned for information about FASD. I’ll be sharing some facts and tips about FASD every Monday this month.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a lifelong condition caused by alcohol exposure before birth.

It can affect:
⚡ Brain function
🗣 Communication
🧩 Learning
🤝 Social skills
💪 Physical health

FASD looks different for each person, but with the right supports, individuals can thrive. 💛

For information about resources, please reach out: CaitlynSmall@mushkegowuk.ca or 705-658-4222 ext 130

Today, August 31, we observe International Overdose Awareness Day. This day is a reminder to take a moment to remember, reflect, and act. This year’s theme, “One Big Family: Driven by Hope,” reminds us that while overdose shatters families and communities, healing and change are possible when we come together.

Overdose can and must be prevented. Everyone deserves respect, dignity, and health care. Stigma harms, but empathy saves.

Our Mental Health and Addictions Workers and our Harm Reduction Nurses can help. Reach out to us: moma@mushkegowuk.ca

Our Timmins office (11 Elm Street N.) is a Naloxone distribution site. Naloxone can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. Pick up a Naloxone kit from our office.
