Many gardeners reuse coffee waste as a simple soil booster instead of throwing it away 🌿♻️ many plants love it 👇

Before the drugstore aisle, there was the garden, the hedgerow, the root cellar, the kitchen shelf, and somebody’s grandmother who knew exactly what to reach for.

People used what they had. Willow bark. Elderberry. Nettle. Eucalyptus. Lavender. Yarrow. Lamb’s ear. Plantain leaf. Clove. Spilanthes. Garlic. Thyme. Calendula. Chamomile. Feverfew.

Some were steeped. Some were wrapped around wounds. Some were made into syrups, salves, poultices, oils, teas, vinegars, or whatever the situation called for.

And here’s the thing: a lot of these plants didn’t just disappear because the shelves got shinier. Many are still used today in teas, salves, oils, tinctures, steams, syrups, ferments, and home remedies passed down through families.

Not every old remedy was perfect. Some worked better than others. Some were more tradition than science. Some were used because there simply wasn’t anything else. But a whole lot of plant knowledge stuck around for a reason.

People paid attention.

They knew which leaves cooled the skin.
Which roots were worth digging.
Which flowers belonged in a salve.
Which bark had a place in the medicine chest.
Which herbs were kept close when winter rolled in.

That kind of knowledge didn’t come from a marketing team. It came from use, observation, tradition, and generations of people passing things down because they had to.

Before everything came from a lab, it came from the earth.

⚠️Always do your research before introducing into your diet, especially if you have any underlying or pre-existing conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking medications.

A branch that snaps off a willow tree in a storm can become a new tree in two weeks — no nursery, no root ball, no hundred-dollar price tag. Dozens of trees and shrubs grow from nothing but a cutting dropped in water on a windowsill.

- Willow — one of the fastest tree rooters, visible roots in five to seven days, and the cutting releases a natural rooting hormone into the water that helps other plants root faster too
- Elderberry — cut a twelve-inch dormant stem in late winter, strip the lower buds, roots appear in three to four weeks
- Forsythia — snip a six-inch stem of new green growth in spring, roots form in two to three weeks
- Rose — cut an eight-inch stem from a healthy cane, strip the lower leaves and thorns, roots develop in four to six weeks
- Currant — take a ten-inch hardwood cutting in late fall, roots form slowly over winter in water, ready to plant by spring

Honeysuckle, mulberry, privet, dogwood, and crepe myrtle all root the same way — a healthy cutting, a tall glass, and patience measured in weeks instead of dollars.

The most expensive thing at the nursery started out as a stick in someone's glass of water.

Root Cause Protocol Start - MAGNESIUM!

🌟 Magnesium: The Unsung Hero of Your Body
Magnesium is involved in over 3,700 enzymatic processes—making it second only to water in importance for life and health. Yet, it’s one of the most deficient minerals in modern society.

Why is magnesium so essential? ⚡

1. It’s your energy ignition switch.
Magnesium is needed to activate ATP (adenosine triphosphate)—your body’s main energy molecule. Without magnesium, ATP is just sitting there, unusable. No magnesium = no energy = fatigue, brain fog, and burnout.

❤️ 2. It regulates iron and prevents oxidative stress.
Magnesium helps manage iron inside the body—keeping it safely bound and preventing it from causing oxidative stress and tissue damage. When you’re low in magnesium, iron runs wild—leading to inflammation and symptoms that mimic “anemia.”

🧘‍♀️ 3. It calms your nervous system.
Magnesium is known as the relaxation mineral. It helps regulate your stress response, ease anxiety, reduce muscle tension, support sleep, and stabilize mood.

🧠 4. It supports brain and nerve function.
Magnesium is vital for neurotransmitter balance, nerve conduction, and cognitive clarity. It’s no coincidence that low magnesium is linked to headaches, migraines, and neurological symptoms.

🔄 5. It’s a team player for all other minerals.
Magnesium is the gatekeeper—helping your body absorb and use other key nutrients like copper, potassium, and vitamin A. Without it, those other nutrients can’t do their job.

So WHY are we so deficient?!
Modern life drains magnesium—fast.
Stress, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, processed food, prescription meds… they all deplete magnesium. And to make it worse, our soil is depleted too—meaning food sources don’t give us what they used to.

✅ That’s why the very first "Start" in the Root Cause Protocol is:

Start taking magnesium.
Magnesium is the foundation for restoring mineral balance, reducing inflammation, calming the body, and starting real healing.

🧡 If you’re tired, anxious, inflamed, or just feel off…magnesium might be the missing piece.

Start here. Start strong. Start with magnesium!
