WINTER SOLSTICE: The Season of Winter & The Element of Water

Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year. It is the time of yin within yin, when energy moves inwards and downwards. Life follows the call of gravity and sinks deeper into the earth.

In winter, animals slow their breath to hibernate. Trees go into storage mode, sending all their sugar and energy into their roots. Life around us also slows.

We, too, are nature.

Now is the time for REST, STILLNESS and REFLECTION. It is the time of consolidating and gathering for the coming year. It is the time to dive deep and explore our darkness wherein we discover our light.

Community Acupuncture is back!!

After the summer break, we are excited to be opening our doors again starting this Friday, September 22nd.

This beloved program will continue to run every Friday from 2pm to 5pm in the Multipurpose Room at the Tofino
Community Hall, with our lovely Acupuncturist Robyn.

This accessible service will be offered using the sliding scale model ($35-$65), and is based on what you feel you can contribute.

Appointments are necessary, so please book in advance through the booking link in the bio.

EARTH ELEMENT: The Season of Late Summer

Once summer has reached its height, the year's cycle begins the decline into the season of late summer - the earth element.

Earth is a stabilizing force during the times of transition. After all the activity of spring and summer, nature's time to grow and bloom, Earth can help us get centred and balanced in late summer as we organize ourselves for the autumn harvest and begin to prepare for winter, the season of rest.

This season is the pause between the rising Elements of Wood and Fire and the descending Elements, Metal and Water. It is the energy of Earth - Mother Earth.

The extra hours of sunlight give us the time to nurture our creative energies and to fully engage in the abundance that surrounds us.

COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE:

Today is the last day of our Community Acupuncture program for the Spring Session. The Fall Session will commence on September 16th with a few pop-up dates occurring over the Summer.

The return of Community Acupuncture was a great success and we are grateful to our coastal communities of Tofino and Ucluelet for supporting the initiative.
