National Policy Win: Strengthening Labour Market Access. A policy resolution on Restoring LMIA Points in Express Entry to Strengthen Labour Market Access and Economic Growth was adopted at the 2025 Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM & Conference.

Led by the Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade and strengthened with contributions from the Tofino Chamber, this resolution calls on the federal government to:

✅ Improve LMIA verification and fraud prevention
✅ Restore CRS points for legitimate LMIA-backed job offers
✅ Increase processing capacity and allow work-permit activation within Canada
✅ Review language requirements and adopt a shared-cost model

This is a major step forward for communities like Tofino, ensuring employers can access the skilled talent they need while keeping Canada’s immigration system fair, efficient, and competitive.
