What causes sagging arms? 🤔
Aging: As we age, the skin loses elasticity, which can cause it to droop or sag.
Genetics: Some people are more prone to sagging skin due to genetics.
Weight fluctuations: Rapid weight changes can cause the skin to stretch and lose elasticity, leading to sagging arms.

Although cardio can aid in fat loss and weight training can improve the strength of the muscles in your arms, these methods will not address excess skin, weakened tissues, or stubborn fat deposits. In such cases, an arm lift surgery (Brachioplasty) may be the optimal solution!

How is Brachioplasty surgery performed? 💡
The performance of this procedure varies based on several factors, including your anatomy. The incision length during the surgery depends on how much skin and fat need to be removed. Those with more toned arms may only need a small incision, while those with excessively loose and sagging skin may require a longer incision from the armpit to the elbow. Please be assured that the incision is made on the underside of the arm and will be barely visible after healing. After the incision, the excess skin is trimmed, and the underlying muscles are tightened if necessary. Depending on the anatomy and individual case, the armpit may also need to be tightened surgically. Dr. Romy's ultimate goal is to help you achieve the best result possible and a toned appearance for your upper arms.

Can I get liposuction instead of an arm lift? 😷
While these procedures may sound similar, they each serve a different purpose. An arm lift involves the permanent surgical removal of excess skin and fat deposits that cannot be reduced through exercise. Liposuction, however, only focuses on removing fat and does not address excess skin. The choice between the two procedures usually depends on the amount of loose skin on the arm. Those who have lost a substantial amount of weight are typically recommended to have an arm lift to remove their excess skin for optimal results. When opting for liposuction, patients should have relatively good skin elasticity to only require liposuction or minor skin tightening. ✨
