Reading this makes me wanting to start up my business here in Sweden. Helping and guiding moms is huge in the beginning with the newborn and (at least 40 days) of the postpartum.
I also think that preparing new moms and parents is critical both for the newborn and for the new parents in so many ways. If you are a mom or a parent, please answer this questions with honesty: did you think and felt the same about postpartum period during pregnancy verses after giving birth or receiving your newborn? How many of you we’re surprise how you felt and how your mind played games with you? How confident were you after giving birth? Being tired and sleepy is not only do to less hours of sleep - it is combination of the pressure and stress we have as parents. It’s also the lack of support. The anxiety and depression is a sign of unhealthy habits of mindsets. It often comes from - what if, should, would, and could do.
Once a mother, parent uses mindfulness practice while caring for themselves and their newborn and also with other family members, then a healthy connection and relationship is achieved. New moms and parents can learn what they need for help and support. Arranging house hold help with friends and families can be the best baby shower gift. Clothes and blankets are great, but a smile from a well rested mom or a parent is priceless.
To offer new mothers more confidence, learning to experience the newborn with more harmony and peace - wouldn’t this be wonderful? This is possible.
When I work with mothers and parents, they often say: “it was the best experience ever, even during the challenges”.
Please share the most important help or support you needed during postpartum- newborn period?
