Embodied and relational workshop at the Gestalt Institute on Monday Oct. 21st!

"Finding Our Ground" is for you if you're wanting to:

-- Connect with your authentic embodied experience
-- Explore where, when, and how you become "grounded" and "ungrounded"
-- Explore staying with your own needs and boundaries while also connecting with others
-- Find creative ways to connect with the support you are needing and yearning for

Please share with anyone who may benefit from this workshop!

What do we mean when we say things like “being grounded” or “losing my ground”? In this workshop, we will explore our relationship with the ground: the literal Earth beneath us, and the symbolic “ground” that represents how supported or held we feel in any given moment. It can be especia...

Rather than trying to figure out how to "get rid of" our trauma responses by trying to have more Discipline, we can learn what underlying need we are trying to meet 💗

Not only are you allowed, but hopefully supported and encouraged! Embodied forms of therapy can be especially helpful when speaking to your truth is hard, or you don't even know what you're feeling. As embodied or somatic practitioners we are trained to support you in re-connecting with the truth of your own experience, and then in finding your way of expressing these truths.
Which means you don't have to figure it out on your own.

There are a lot of horrors to be witnessing right now. If you take in a horrific image or information, try to give yourself a moment before moving on to the next thing. Take a breath. Look away from the screen.
Moving from horror to silly without a break is like whiplash to our system. I'm not saying, stay with only the horror. I'm just staying, take a moment. Acknowledge the impact. Maybe take a moment to consider how it is you DO want to respond, if you do want to respond. Then, decide to move on. Allow yourself to connect with pleasure, joy, humour, distraction, whatever! These are not bad things! But if we try and flit from horror to distraction, it can feel almost like we're trying to erase one with the other. And I believe that wreaks havoc on our nervous system, on our soul, and on our capacities for collective care.
Let's include our need for distraction and pleasure and connection along with our need to engage with the suffering that our own privileges are intertwined with. One CAN nourish the other. We just need to be more intentional about it...

The roots of our healing are already part of us-- in our yearnings, in our pain, and in our fear, there are seeds of wisdom about how we love, what we deserve, and what we are needing.

Through embodied (somatic), present-centered, and relational therapy, we can learn what nourishes the roots of your own healing.

FINDING OUR GROUND: Embodied Healing Workshop
(Somatic Inquiry & Relational / Gestalt Therapy)
---------------------------------------------

How do we move and speak from our most "grounded" or authentic selves, if we are are lost in a swirl of worries, fears, or regrets? Or if we don't know WHAT we are feeling? How do we feel held by others if we feel disconnected from our own selves?

Finding Our Ground means coming back to our most basic forms of support – the Earth, our body, our inherent connectedness and belonging.

In a small online group (8 participants max!) we will explore:

-- Connecting to greater feelings of safety and belonging
-- Connecting to our authentic present moment experience
-- Discovering new and gentle ways to hold challenging feelings
-- Somatic, mindful, embodied, and creative ways to be with ourselves (and with each other!)
-- Possibilities for continuing these forms of healing and discovery beyond the workshop

P.S. If you miss this one and want to attend similar workshops in the future, feel free to get in touch!
