Connect and Grow

Connect and Grow Connect & Grow deepens the sense of community and connectedness, through the practice of yoga. Hey there! Thank you for joining us on this journey! ♡

My name is Sneha Nemichand, I am a yoga and wellness instructor currently living in Toronto, Canada. As an instructor, I combine my learning from pranayama and meditation with my yoga training to provide a safe and guided space of exploration for people to know how they feel on the inside, within their body and mind. I believe that this knowledge can quickly transition off the mat and help individ

uals evolve and grow in their personal life by assisting them in moving towards relationships that are truly meaningful and choices that truly speak to them. In this way, the practice of yoga has the power to heal and bring people together and for me, it is a personal journey that I am thrilled to share it with as many of you as I can! Connect and Grow is born out of the desire to deepen the sense of community and connectedness, through the practice of yoga. Our mission is to make the gifts of yoga and meditation available for the well-being of everyone in our community and we aim to do that by providing financially accessible offerings. We believe that a connected community can become a safe space for healing and each of us can contribute towards it, support each other and in turn grow on this journey. Yoga has given me the ability to notice what is going on within my body and my mind. It has allowed me to pause my day, let go for a little bit, get in sync with my breathing and use it to connect with my lively mind and I hope to pay this forward.

A question for you to consider: do your muscles
⚡say nothing?
⚡⚡whisper softly?
⚡⚡⚡speak loudly?
⚡⚡⚡⚡yell?

And does that surprise you?

Yoga has given me the space and the silence to listen closely. And this has brought me closer to knowing who I am and where I am on my journey.

Mid January in a new year. It seems like things should feel new.

🦥 Are you not feeling the new year's resolution vibe or not ready to take up self improvement projects? I feel you! 🦥

Here are a few things that you can do instead

❄️ Do nothing, seriously. Listen to yourself instead of listening to others.
❄️ Stay with nature. If it is the winter season where you are, chances are the season itself has a big impact on you. Spring for example, may be more appropriate for newness and beginnings.

While you are staying low and looking inwards

❄️✨Reflect to establish where you are now, where you would like to go or how you would like to be, why you care about the journey and/or the destination and a few roads as options for your journey.

✨ ✨✨✨✨✨

In the hush of winter's embrace we stand
Beneath the veil of solstice grand.
The year exhales, a sigh in the cold
A tale of stories, of truths untold.

Snowflakes dance in a graceful ballet
Whispering tales of the year's decay.
Yet, in their descent, a promise they bring
Of renewal, rebirth, as they softly sing.

The world in slumber, beneath a white sheet
A tranquil landscape, a calm and sweet retreat
Footprints of time in the glistening snow
Marking the path as the old year must go

A fireplace flickers, casting shadows tall
As we gather close in the solstice's thrall
Reflections of memories, like embers burn
A chronicle of lessons, a heart's slow turn.

The moon, a guardian in the midnight sky,
Watches over the world with a knowing eye.
In this sacred silence, we find our way,
To the dawn of a new and hopeful day.

As the solstice wanes, the year takes its bow
Time unwinding, as if guided by a vow
In the stillness of winter, we find our voice
A poem of gratitude, a quiet rejoice.

💔 There are so many layers to this long standing conflict and frankly when debated on whose actions are justified, each of us will have a different take on it.

Perhaps the conversation to have is not about who is right or what is justified but to ask how my actions can shape the ongoing narrative.

✨ One of the reasons I chose to become a teacher was to support my network of women in their journey of health and wellness. I love bringing people together to connect with each other, lean on each other and grow together. This work is even more rewarding when I get to do it with other women who are on the same path!

➡️ SO excited to partner with at for the World Menopause Day Meetup on October 18. We're going to focus on women's health and wellness and share space as a community.

AND we're going to do it by leveraging the power of Virtual Reality 🤩

Paryushan is a religious observance in Jainism. The final day of this festival, Samvatsari, has an overarching theme of fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth. We reflect on our choices and ways of life through the year. We practice compassion, ask for forgiveness and seek to mend broken relationships.

My understanding of the religious practice has evolved over time as I grow and learn, especially in my time away from home. This day is now a time for introspection, meditation, and self-reflection.

Through fasting and reflecting, I appreciate the
✨ shift and reset in my mindset each year
✨ opportunity to acknowledge my mistakes and forgive others
✨ time I get back in the day since I don't have to feed myself
✨ opportunity for rest in the different systems within my body
✨ food that I consume (after the fast ends)

07/17/2023

👉As human beings, we often neglect to fully comprehend the profound impact that life-changing events have on our bodies and minds. This holds true for all of us. Those who face medical conditions or chronic pain on a daily basis, individuals who relocate in the hopes of finding a sense of belonging, high-performing athletes who are forced to take breaks, new mothers who cope with significant changes through motherhood. All of us tend to strive towards regaining our former strength and reverting to our previous ways of being. We are wired to reclaim whatever fragments of our previous lives we can, or what we believe life is "supposed" to be.

🚨While this quality can foster resilience and motivate us to take action in rebuilding, it also poses a risk of disconnecting us from acknowledging our state of being during the transitional phase. Depending on the duration of this phase, we often remain detached from our true selves for an extended period, causing immense pain and suffering.

🚨Ultimately, this hampers our ability to be resilient and respond to life's ups and downs in the way we desire. Why do we persist in living this way? Why do we perpetuate this mindset?

👉The next time you find yourself going through a life-altering phase, I encourage you to consider an alternative approach. Is there a different way I can be at this point in time that would better support my well-being? Why am I hesitant to reset my high expectations for my body and mind? What drives me to continue as if my body and mind haven't just undergone a significant transformation?

🤝Lastly, also consider, how can we support others who may find themselves in a similar space?
