Day 31 - Side Twist with Je-an
“I really enjoy performing this movement because of the spiral 🌀 aspect that comes from my pelvis, hips and legs all the way up to my spine with rotation and even to my supporting arm 😍. I imagine that I’m a top being cranked to the opposite direction ↩️ going up, before letting go to allow the spin to happen going the other direction ↪️ which is when I’m coming down to starting position.”

“This is a very hard exercise. First I couldn’t connect with back and hip extensors at all. Now I feel more connection in my body which is amazing developments!!”

“This exercise gives me a nice feeling with loosening up the hip muscles and reducing tension. I feel that it also strengthen the core and improve balance or right and left.”

Day 28 - Corkscrew with Je-an
“Interestingly I got this inverting movement piece. Another opportunity to practice the principle of control. The complexity of the Mat 3 version of corkscrew is enjoyable and challenging. Rolling up and down on one side of the spine smoothly is my goal when I’m performing this piece.”

Day 27 - Fletcher Pilates Stomach Series with Rie
“This is a great exercise to develop our core and abdominal strength. It is super hard to do with control. The scissors is challenging with the hyperextended knees. My knees are not stretched enough even though I am extended as much as I can. This is my challenge with my body to internalize and analyze my body with movements.”

Day 26 - Leg Pull Prone & Leg Pull Supine with Tomoe
“With Leg Pull Prone, I find it strengthens hip extensors and shoulder girdle which I’m working on. I have to stabilize my trunk and pelvis for a smooth movement.
For Leg Pull Supine, I have to focus on my back muscles and abdominals for the support of my upper body as I work on the strength of my hip flexors. Both of these exercises are challenging for my upper body. “

Day 25 - Control Balance with Je-an
“Quite a challenging and technical movement. A lot of important elements for this one. Control is a big one, but only if you have oppositional energy and hip articulation. My personal challenge is to keep my sitting bones reaching towards the ceiling. A process that keeps on giving!”

Day 24 - Swan 🦢 Dive with Rie
“Swan dive is a fun exercise just like rolling like a ball - though opposite spinal mechanics. I am trying to explore my body how much I can control with this dynamic movement. I am still struggling with my pelvis stability as my pelvis is rotating when diving.”

Day 23 - Rolling Like A Ball with Tomoe
“Rolling exercise are challenging for me. My spine has a bump from an old injury so I need to put extra padding because it’s uncomfortable 😫.
But it’s a fun exercise and gives a nice massage to the spine and back, and keeps abdominals strong.”
