Not all trauma responses look like panic attacks.
Sometimes, trauma hides in plain sight...in the habits, reactions, or patterns we’ve picked up just to feel safe.

You might recognize yourself in:
• Freeze – shutting down or zoning out
• Fawn – people-pleasing to keep the peace
• Fight – snapping, getting irritable or defensive
• Flight – overworking or staying constantly busy

These are nervous system adaptations. It’s your brain doing its best to protect you.

It can feel like grief for what you hoped would be, shame for something that isn’t your fault, and deep exhaustion after giving so much of yourself to the process.
Healing takes time. Be gentle with your body and your heart. Talk to your partner, set boundaries with others, and allow yourself to feel without pressure to “move on” too quickly.

ADHD in women is often misunderstood.
It doesn’t always show up as the “hyper little boy” stereotype we all know.

For many women, ADHD can look like:
• Constant daydreaming
• Forgetting small details
• Perfectionism that hides the struggle
• Feeling emotionally overwhelmed

Because of this, so many women go undiagnosed for years. They’re told it’s anxiety. They’re told it’s depression. Or worse, that they just need to “try harder.”

Getting a diagnosis later in life can bring relief, clarity—and sometimes grief for all the lost years.

It’s time we start talking about what ADHD really looks like in women.
