The word ābrighteningā is doing a lot of heavy lifting in skincare marketing right now. It can mean exfoliation, pigmentation correction, or just adding glow, and most products donāt tell you which one theyāre actually doing.
Thatās why I want to talk about Viniferine, the active in Vinoperfect Serum. Itās a polyphenol extracted from grapevine sap that works on tyrosinase, the enzyme behind sun spots, post-acne pigmentation, and melasma. The clinical data shows dark spots reduced by 63% after one bottle, and 81% on deeper skin tones.
That second number is the one I want patients with skin of colour to see. Inclusive clinical data in this category is still the exception, not the rule, and itās a big part of why I felt good partnering on this product.
A few things worth knowing if youāre considering it:
Ā· Gentle and stable, which is often a challenge with traditional brightening actives at the concentrations needed for results
Ā· Light texture, oil-free, layers under makeup
Available at in store and at sephora.com
