What is MIRA? Comment MIRA in the comments to find out more!
This is revolutionary! We will be using these test kits in my 8 module perimenopausal prep program!
It is an AT HOME hormone testing kit that can let you know where your estrogen, progesterone, and FSH levels are at.
Another hormone that changes during menopause is follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).
However, unlike estrogen and progesterone levels which are much lower during perimenopause, FSH levels can be, on average, 6X higher in perimenopause. This is completely normal and is an indication that the ovaries have fewer follicles for releasing eggs.
You can also test for AMH from the comfort of your home with Mira’s Panorama Fertility Lab Test. In addition to AMH, this at-home blood test can also screen for thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free thyroxine (fT4), prolactin, and free testosterone. Together, these hormones can help to paint a picture of your overall fertility health, thyroid functioning, and ovarian reserve.

Understanding your perimenopause symptoms
Irregular periods, hot flashes, and vaginal dryness are some of the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. But understanding their cause can be confusing—especially if you’re 35 or older. Learn if your body is entering its next stage by testing your FSH levels with Mira.

This is very exciting for me as I want to know my body's hormone rhythms so I can be grounded in how to best support myself and my clients into this next phase of life.

A cluttered space is a cluttered mind. I use this phrase a lot to help me when I have too many things to choose from. I am grateful that I have access to so much cool content to consume but it can keep me busy without ever actually accomplishing much.
On Mondays when I am having a hard time getting motivated to get stuff done, I start unsubscribing to podcasts, email newsletters etc to declutter my content.
ADHD brain: internet rabbit holes and getting stoked is something that goes hand in hand. When I get interested in something I find myself subscribing to too many podcasts and ordering many books and before I know it I have too much choice, where no books will be read and those podcasts will be shuffled into the podcast grave yard. I have learned to PAUSE before I purchase or subscribe. ASK myself how likely I am to consume this and finish it?

Parenting pro tip: books for new moms are lengthy in the writing and full of other parenting stories. Sleep deprived and with postpartum brain I have never successfully read any of the books for new moms. The books for a new dads are straight forward and contain bullet points. I would breast-feed Romilly and read it as she grew. Super helpful. I cannot believe she is 9 months today😯🎂🎉.

I oscillate between radical acceptance and overwhelm around having ADHD. It was so freeing to discover my life experience had a name that wasn't "oh Erica 🤦‍♀️...". I discovered I had it while researching ADHD for a client during the pandemic. It was eye opening and terrifying. What I love about being a functional nutritionist is that I really believe, I can hack my way out of my symptoms. What I learned from being a mom is that you can't always hack your way out of post-partum brain with an added ADHD cherry on top. This is where the radical acceptance comes in. This morning my husband left the clothing shaver on his desk and I finally shaved my winter hat after about 1 year of wanting to get to it. The only reason I achieved this is because my husband left the clothing shaver in plain sight. I sat quietly shaving my winter hat as spring is thawing all the snow. My ego took a hit for taking so long to do it. But it's done. I have many other unfinished projects waiting for me to get done. Most of ADHD is managing it like you would a physical condition. Also being able to laugh😆 about it and keep it light. Having no shame has helped me stay afloat.
Lists, calenders, meditation, minimal coffee, sleep, eat protein, take supplements, exercise, meditate again, rest, stay organized and radical forgiveness and compassion. Humility. This on a loop.
I have been in a long hyperfocus learning about ADHD ever since I discovered I have it. Can it be hacked? Is it just symptom management? Along this journey I will share what I discover. I don't have all the answers but I remain hopeful.
Forgotten projects: nettle and raspberry tea infusion (2months), lemon geranium in olive oil (1 yr+), I have left the valve to the water cooler open so often I had to write a reminder on the valve. I am not allowed to ferment anymore as I will just let it ferment forever and turn into vinegar. ,
