✨ SLAM! 2026: Staying in the Present Moment ✨

What does it mean to be truly free? For many of us in the GBTQ+ Asian community, the noise of the past and the "what-ifs" of the future can feel overwhelming. This year, SLAM! (S*x Love Asian Men) returns with a one-day interactive forum dedicated to reclaiming our agency and finding peace in the right now.

When we stay present, we stay free. Join us for a day of connection, grounding, and real talk as we explore mindfulness through a community lens.

What’s happening:
🧘‍♂️ Guided Meditation Workshop: Gentle, easy-to-implement practices to guide you back to the present, in every moment.
🗣️ Panel Discussion: Honest stories of resilience and finding clarity amidst uncertainty.
🛡️ Harm Reduction Workshop: Led by ACAS's experienced harm reduction team.

📅 Date: Saturday, March 14, 2026
🕙 Time: 10:15 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 Location: College Street United Church (452 College St, M6G 1A1)
🍱 Perks: Lunch is provided!

The recent passing of Bill 223 by the Ontario government will result in the closure of 10 safe consumption sites (SCS) in Ontario by March 31, 2025.  There are negative perceptions about SCS in society, due largely to stigma about drugs and people who use drugs (PWUD).  Many viewpoints about SCS are based in myths and the above slides aim to address them.  Please read the above slides and consider sharing them within your social circles and communities.

Please follow and to continue receiving important updates and information about harm reduction and substance use.

Read the above slides to learn more about the opioid overdose crisis in Ontario, the passing of Bill 223 and the impact SCS closures will have on people who use drugs and the community.

According to the Section 7 of Charter of Rights and Freedoms which states, EVERYONE has the right to life, liberty and security of the person. Bill 223, which will stop people who use drugs from accessing life-saving opioid overdose interventions, is a violation of this right.

Please consider taking action to protest this bill and raise awareness for the harms it will cause.
