As spring approaches, we have some updates regarding the changes at CORE Nutrition Consulting.

Towards the end of April and early May 2026, we will be winding down the nutrition counselling side of the business. Clients will have access to their accounts until April 18, 2026. Clients who may require access to their charts/records may reach out to our emails after April 18th.

Our website will be up until the end of May/early June 2026, with further updates to be shared.

Our account will remain active and continue to post food and evidence-based nutrition content. Thank you for your continued support during this transition period.

Happy holidays!

We have not been active on our social media for a while, and that's because we have some changes coming in 2026.

Unfortunately, we will be making changes to our business in Spring 2026, including staffing transitions. Our team is transitioning to different paths on our dietetic journey and has decided to prioritize that moving forward. We will be keeping this account active and will also continue posting food and evidence-based nutrition content.

We want to take this time to thank you all for your support and to our clients who took a chance on our small team of newly graduated RDs. We've learned so much over the past 5 years, and we are so grateful to have had this experience.

Low mercury fish

It is recommended to have 2 servings of fish a week. Fish can provide healthy nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids, which supports heart health. Healthy fats may also play a role in fetal brain & eye development for women who are pregnant and those who may become pregnant. As a result, fish is a beneficial protein source for many individuals.

Mercury levels in fish is something you may be concerned about. This is a list of fish in Canada that have lower levels of mercury. For more information, check out "Mercury in Fish" on Canada.ca.

Are you following a lacto-vegetarian diet and finding it challenging to get enough protein? If dairy and plant-based foods are your go-tos, here are some protein-rich additions to meals and snacks!

- High protein milk, which contains about twice the protein of regular milk
- Dairy products such as Greek and Skyr yogurts, paneer, hard cheeses, and cottage cheese
- Beans and lentils
- Nuts and seeds
- Soy-based foods such as tofu, tempeh, and edamame

Here is another quick and balanced meal using prepared foods and veggie mixes.

I (Pauline) decided to pick up a prepared rotisserie chicken and pair it with rice and a salad mix of romain lettuce, kale, dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds. I used budget-friendly microwavable rice found at Dollarama. This meal was tasty, filling, and took less than 5 minutes to assemble!
