Yesterday was such a beautiful and emotional day! Not only did I receive my diploma as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, but I also renewed my vows to this beautiful profession—vows that I swore to uphold (twice): to honor them always, in everything I do, even beyond my professional life.
It’s a commitment to serving others. It’s easy to forget that every interaction with a patient is an act of service, and this is true across all professions.
For many years, I felt like I never knew enough, that I would never know as much as the greats in medicine, and that I didn’t have many tools to help others. But I discovered that those thoughts were rooted in arrogance, ego, and even envy—wanting to stand out and be better than others. The human being remains an indecipherable mystery to humanity... we are still far from understanding.
So today, with greater humility, I say that I AM READY! Ready to give my best within my abilities—abilities that I thank God for giving me and that I promise to continue honoring and perfecting.
There’s an old saying in medicine: “Cure sometimes, relieve often, accompany always.” It’s a bit cliché, but it’s a good reminder and still relevant.
Thank you to my family for being with me in spirit at yesterday’s ceremony, and to my dear partner , who sat through the three-hour ceremony (and supported me through these last two years) like a true champion. ❤️
My heart is with full gratitude 🙏🏼
