So it’s official, I was 2nd runner up in my first Municipal elections race in my beautiful city of Brampton!!

The wards that I hoped to represent is 70,000 strong and I am blessed and favoured to have received 3200 votes out of 20,708 votes casted and a total percentage of 15.45%!!

For a first timer into this world of politics and deep pockets, I am proud of myself for standing on my values, working hard door to door knocking while working Full time at the hospital, volunteering my time to my commitments, taking care of a family, launching a clinic and a book!! God is so good and He has graced me with favour and strength beyond my understanding!!

I want to thank my family for standing beside me and for my church family and friends who prayed without ceasing for this victory!!

Lessons learnt from this awesome experience, Debates are fun, reach out and ask for help, have a team of volunteers, take a leave of absence to campaign, reach out for sponsors and above all continue to be in involved in my community and advocacy as that’s in my DNA!!

Congratulations to Mr. Gurpartap Toor for his win and being elected Regional Councillor in wards 9 & 10. A race well run and a positive campaign run by us both!!

It’s almost the day!! Tomorrow is Election Day and I am finishing strong in my neighbourhood and meeting and door knocking!!

Gorgeous summer like day in sweater season!! We are blessed to enjoy Diwali and Election Day with such amazing weather!!

Canvassing with Janice Gordon-Daniels Campaign at the Rosedale Community!! As we come to a wrap on our door to door knocking as it’s Decision Day on Monday October 24,2022!

Irrespective of the decision by Bramptonians on Monday, this is what I have learnt and gained through this campaign

1. Self confidence as I have met so many amazing Bramptonians who have lifted me up and given me positive affirmations and validated my action to step into this world of politics.
2. New and life long relationships and friendships ; Janice Gordon- you crack me up and I have learnt so much from you and the laughter, meals and strategizing has been so much fun; Carwyn Holland- my brother - you have joined in our craziness and helped us believe in ourselves and in our cause and purpose.
3. My community and neighbours— loved listening to my neighbours and our seniors who have helped us strategize and given us ideas for debates and talking points etc.
4. My beautiful city of Brampton- explored about our history, beautiful parks and trails, small businesses, arts, cultures, community bbqs, events, Brampton Board of Trade, Brampton Arts Organization etc.

The list is endless but at the end, I, Susan Joseph will be around making her voice heard as a proud Bramptonian always advocating and leading as a voice for the most vulnerable and for awareness to mental health and well being!!

God Bless Brampton and let’s make out city Strong and Better again!! 💖💖💖🌹🌹🌹
