For the first time in our organization’s history, Surrey Place has received an arts grant from the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) to support the growth and evolution of our Symphonic Passion Chorus program.

For 20 years, this choir has offered a meaningful space for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to build confidence, foster friendships, and express themselves through music. With this historic funding, we will co-design the next chapter of the program alongside our members, giving them a greater voice in song selection, leadership, and even songwriting.

This milestone marks a new era for creative expression within our community. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates, member interviews, and our most exciting holiday concert yet.

This project is about more than music. It is about inclusion, empowerment, and community. Thank you OAC and MPP Jessica Bell, for supporting the arts in our community!
