What a gorgeous day to be helping our patients at the clinic 😊. Especially when we see them for a follow up consult and we find out that with our guidance, expertise and of course the parents hard work, the issues have resolved and breastfeeding is successful 🙏.

This beautiful breastfeeding dyad came to us 2 weeks ago. The mother was experiencing severe ni**le pain that also resulted in vasospasm of the breast. The baby was not getting enough at each feeding, and inspite of gaining WNL and the numbers on the scale looking good, baby was fussy when feeding and in-between feeds described as a "gassy" baby. The mother was also restricting her diet, they thought that some foods in her diet were causing baby's gassiness via her breastmilk leading to frequent spit ups.

We worked on the latch, adjusted breastfeeding management, addressed oral restrictions and increased her milk supply.

I love my job 👶🤱💫

Our team is working hard to help families in-person and through virtual appointments as needed. During this Covid 19 situation our service is of most importance. Due to current circumstances, many parents are being discharged from the hospital facing breastfeeding difficulties and increasing readmittance to the hospital due to infant dehydration, hyperbilirubinemia, weight loss, etc. At our clinic, every breastfeeding dyad is seen by a pediatrician and an IBCLC clinician. Our care is comprehensive and will help avoid and solve the above complications when feeding is not going well if patients are referred early.

Practitioners please refer as soon as symptoms present! Parents, we are here for you, if you have any breastfeeding concerns, ask your doctor or primary care provider to refer you to our clinic.

Good morning!! It's a beautiful day to help parents with breastfeeding their baby. This beautiful 17 day old baby was not latching on until today. Today he latched on and drank really well. Helping this baby to latch on and helping parents recognize that baby is actually drinking helps eliminate the need to purchase formula during our present circumstances.

“Close contact and early, exclusive breastfeeding helps a baby to thrive.

A woman with CoVID-19 should be supported to breastfeed safely, hold her newborn skin-skin, and share a room with her baby.”- World Health Organization

Breastfeeding is more than the nutritional benefits, breastmilk has anti-infective properties that will keep your baby/child as healthy as possible. Breastmilk is truly liquid gold! ❤️🤱♥️.
