We tend to experience a lot of emotions! Many of them aren't positive, but that is totally normal! In fact, it's abnormal to be happy all the time, so practice self-compassion next time you're feeling down. We can welcome negative emotions and learn to cope with them. is here to help!

We've got 3 ways for you to help deal with uncertainty-related anxiety. These are for the folks who are anticipating a negative outcome based on inconclusive evidence:

1) Chose to believe in your ability to manage whatever may come. If you're spiralling into worst case scenario thoughts, create a mantra that speaks to you ability to cope and repeat it to yourself out loud as you breath in and out. "I will get through this, I am safe, I'm a warrior", for example.

2) Remind yourself that uncertainty does not make a negative outcome more likely, even though it can feel this way. Psychologists call this tendency Thought-Action-Fusion. We often think that one shred of evidence that points toward our worst fear in a given scenario makes the worst outcome of that scenario more likely. It does not. A tickle in the back of your throat does not make having Covid-19 more likely, for example. Try to avoid catastrophizing crumbs of evidence.

3) Remind yourself that you deal with uncertainty all the time and that you can manage those feeling in other aspects of your life. Try to imagine the positive outcome of the exact same scenario that is driving you nuts. That tickle in the back of your throat? Nothing but dry air and being a little dehydrated.

Max here, founder of . I wanted to share something with everyone.

On Tuesday night after a lovely long weekend camping with some great friends, I got back to the grind. So many things to get done to make Marbl the success I know it can be. I was sitting there reading through and editing legal docs and suddenly a flash of light appeared on my wall behind my monitors...no doubt a car drove by or something and the sun reflected off it onto my wall. But it triggered panic. I started to get dizzy. My brain didn't quite know how to process the unknown stimuli and it responded dizziness and nausea.

Ever since my first panic attack a year ago I've gotten better and better at recognizing the variety of symptoms that can manifest and stopping the cascade in its tracks before it becomes full-blown. I got back to work in a couple minutes after playing with my dog.

When people ask me how Marbl can help people who struggle with , one of the first thing I say is that it helps people recognize the physical symptoms of their feelings before they become overwhelming, creating the space to overcome them before they become too much to handle. Anyone who has experienced a panic attack knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Understanding the difference between a transient mood state and a psychiatric symptom is not as easy as it sounds. Just a friendly reminder that Marbl is here to help :)...Almost here ;)

- What is it from a psychological perspective and why is it essential for achieving ?

Congruence describes when a person's and behaviours are aligned with their beliefs and . It's intimately connected to levels of happiness, resilience to negative , and .

For example, if you want to live a healthier but find yourself binge watching and eating junk food most evenings...You're not going to like your choices very much. When you don't like your choices it created a barrier to liking yourself.

Conversely, if you have taken some steps to address this goal and are making progress, a mis-step is not likely to negatively effect you so much because you have been making congruent choices and will develop some resilience during those harder days. Further, a mis-step in other areas may not effect you so negatively either as you are cultivating pride in your choices.

Congruence is hard, but it feeds on itself and just taking a few steps in the right direction can amplify your ability to stay on the path to making choices you love, and loving yourself. Bonus: People are more attracted to people with a lot of self-love ;)
