Alhamdulillah, over the past four weeks we hosted four community Iftars, with about 250 people joining us each week. Our final Iftar was this past Friday.
A big thank you to everyone who donated food, volunteered their time, and supported these gatherings. Your generosity made it all possible.
Special thanks to everyone who attended the last Iftar, including our partners, community members, and our city leaders. Your support means a lot to our community.
May Allah reward everyone who helped make these Iftars a success. 🌙

Last Wednesday our Healing Circle came together — mothers who have lost their sons to gun violence. 🕊️💔
There was deep sharing, tears, strength, and so much love in the room. We hold space for each other, listen to each other, and remind one another that we are not alone on this journey.
One mother shared that she is starting a foundation in her son’s name to honor his life and legacy. Another amazing mom offered her support by helping design the logo. Moments like this show the power of community and sisterhood.
Even through grief, we continue to uplift each other and keep our sons’ memories alive. Their lives matter. Their love continues through us. 🤍

Last Wednesday we gathered for our Healing Circle — a space for moms who have lost sons to gun violence. 💔🕊️
There was so much sharing, support, and love in the room. Each story matters, and every voice deserves to be heard.
One of the moms shared the beautiful step she is taking to honor her son by starting a foundation in his name. Another amazing mom offered her talent to help design the logo. Seeing the support between these mothers was truly beautiful and powerful.
Even through deep pain, we continue to lift each other up, remember our sons, and turn love into purpose.
Healing together. Supporting each other. Never forgetting our sons. 🤍

Black History Workshop – Changing the Narrative About Black Youth
Last Friday’s workshop was a true example of what community looks like.
Although I accidentally double-booked myself, our incredible Community members stepped in and made sure everything ran smoothly. I’m so grateful for those who showed up early, helped organize, supported one another, and held the space with care. That’s leadership. That’s unity.
A very special thank you to Michael Appiah-Kissi, BA, BSW, our guest speaker who generously gave his time as an in-kind contribution. His message on “How Do We Support Change the Narrative About Black Youth?” was powerful, inspiring, and deeply needed.
We are stronger when we work together.
We change the narrative by showing up, supporting our youth, and investing in our community.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible 🤎

What an incredible night! 🙌
Our Gang Prevention & Gang Exit event was well attended, with 50 people coming together to learn, grow, and support positive change. The speaker was absolutely amazing and brought powerful insight to the room.
This is just the beginning — we will definitely be hosting more events like this in the future. Thank you to everyone who showed up!

Our healing circle has returned after the holidays.
A room filled with parents who understand loss, catching up, listening deeply, and supporting one another with the guidance of our therapist.
As we look ahead to the rest of the year, we do so together — with compassion, strength, and remembrance.

These incredible women are on the front lines advocating to stop gun violence, showing up and building the capacity for real change. Tonight was a moment to say thank you—thank you for your courage, dedication, and relentless work to make our communities safer.
