MOPRP purpose is to enhance and support the safety and wellbeing of the Regent Park community and its surrounding community residents.

Access to education & resources, with the support of community partner, allows us to empower families. PURPOSE

The purpose of this groups is to enhance and support the safety and wellbeing of the
Regent Park community and its surrounding community residents. This will be done
by empowering families through providing education, and access to resources with
the support of community partners. OBJECTIVES

• Empower the residents of Regent Park and its surrounding communities
• Provide families with the resources and support needed to address their needs in crisis
and enhance sense of their community safety
• Build capacity and leadership by providing ongoing workshops, certifications and training
opportunities for RPMP and broader community
• Enhancing access to resources in the community by building strong relationship with the
community partners
• Provide children and youth the ability to partake in fun and engaging events around their
community

TEAM COMPOSITION

• RPMP is comprised of residents of the Regent Park community and its surrounding
neighbourhoods and community-based organizations whose representatives come
together as the team. Participation on the team by community-based organizations is
open to stakeholders who can contribute in-kind***supports and services when needed
• The RPMP is also supported by the City of Toronto’s Community Crisis Response
Program (CCRP), and the TD Learning Centre. ***in kind supports and services can
include provision of meeting space, outreach, training opportunities, etc.

What an incredible night! 🙌
Our Gang Prevention & Gang Exit event was well attended, with 50 people coming together to learn, grow, and support positive change. The speaker was absolutely amazing and brought powerful insight to the room.
This is just the beginning — we will definitely be hosting more events like this in the future. Thank you to everyone who showed up!

This spa day was a small step toward healing for a mother and daughter impacted by gun violence. 🤍
We extend our sincere thanks to our funders and community supporters whose continued support allows us to provide restorative experiences like this.

Our healing circle has returned after the holidays.
A room filled with parents who understand loss, catching up, listening deeply, and supporting one another with the guidance of our therapist.
As we look ahead to the rest of the year, we do so together — with compassion, strength, and remembrance.

Last night, I had the honor of taking the amazing Mothers of Peace to dinner. We had such a wonderful time together! 🌟
These incredible women are on the front lines advocating to stop gun violence, showing up and building the capacity for real change. Tonight was a moment to say thank you—thank you for your courage, dedication, and relentless work to make our communities safer.
Special thanks to Farah for making the dinner so memorable. 🙏💛

Last night we gathered for our final Healing Circle of the year — a space held with love, strength, and reflection for parents who have lost their sons to gun violence. ❤️🕯️
As the holidays approach, we are choosing to pause, breathe, and take a much-needed break. Grief doesn’t follow a calendar, but community helps us carry it together.
Thank you to everyone who showed up with open hearts, shared stories, and supported one another. The pictures we took last night remind us of the power of unity, healing, and hope.
We will resume in the new year, stronger and still holding space for one another. 💛

🩸 STOP THE BLEED – YOUTH CERTIFICATION TRAINING!
Empower young people with the confidence and skills to save a life.
Join us for a hands-on Stop the Bleed training designed specifically for youth. Participants will learn how to recognize severe bleeding, apply pressure, use bandages and tourniquets safely, and take action during an emergency.

Stop the Bleed Training Completed! 🩹❤️
Today our community members successfully completed Stop the Bleed training — our 3rd cohort! They walked out with the skills and confidence to save a life when every second counts. Knowing how to respond when someone is bleeding can truly make the difference between life and death.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and helped make this training possible. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer community. 🙌
