✨ Building Confidence & Joy in Quran Learning ✨

In our first Quran Mentoring session, I had the privilege of connecting with two incredible kids (ages 8 & 11) with ADHD and dyslexia. Through gentle guidance, patience, and understanding their unique learning styles, we created a safe space for them to explore the Quran with confidence and ease — InshaAllah. 💛

Spots in my Quran Mentoring program are limited, as I focus on giving each child the time and attention they deserve.

❤️‍🩹 People-pleasing doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human. But it can also make you vulnerable.

🤧 Especially when someone in a religious role twists your desire to be “good” into an opportunity to control, manipulate—or worse.
⠀
Low self-worth can sound like:
🗣 “Maybe I deserved this.”
🗣 “They know better than I do.”
🗣 “This must be a spiritual test.”
⠀
💔 But these are trauma responses, not spiritual truths.
⠀
You don’t have to earn safety or prove your worthiness to Allah.
And someone else’s misuse of religion doesn’t mean you can’t heal and return to Him.

🤍 You can be soft-hearted and protected.
🤍 You can be obedient to Allah without submitting to someone’s distorted version of Him.
⠀

They used the Quran to traumatize you…😖

It was never the Quran that failed you. It was them—distorting it while pretending it was from Allah.

I recently held space for a client who was trembling with fear—not because she didn’t love the Quran, but because it had been used to hurt her.
⠀
She wasn’t new to the Quran. She had been memorizing it with dedication. But someone in a position of spiritual authority abused her trust.
⠀
When spiritual abuse happens, it can fracture your relationship with the Quran, with Allah—and with yourself.
⠀
But here’s what isn’t true:
❌That you’re too stained to return
❌That your spiritual potential is over
❌That Allah sides with them

Healing is possible.
You can reconnect with the Quran in a safe, shame-free way.
You can take your time.
And you’re not alone.

Before we begin reciting Quran, we begin with understanding.

For sensitive kids—those with ADHD, learning challenges, or emotional overwhelm—this gentle first step can change everything.
