Unpopular opinion: most “PCOS habits” you see online aren’t actually helping.

Because when everything becomes about control
- cutting carbs, suppressing cravings, chasing “perfect” hormones - you lose the context and understanding that actually drive long-term change.

At our clinic, we take a different approach:
✨ Curiosity over control
✨ Compassion over perfection

In this post, I’m breaking down 3 common PCOS traps (and what to do instead).

If you’re ready to ditch the restriction cycle and learn what actually works for your body, join the thousands of women on our newsletter.

Meal planning for PCOS doesn’t have to feel like a full-time job. It just needs a little bit of thoughtfulness. 💭

If you’re running into those energy crashes, unpredictable cycles, intense cravings, or that wired-but-tired feeling, there’s a good chance your blood sugar, insulin response, and inflammation are at a high.

These are big players when it comes to flaring PCOS symptoms, but the way you eat can help bring things back into balance (without perfection or restriction), and get you back to feeling like yourself again.

Swipe for some real-life ways to make meal planning actually doable with PCOS in mind- like:

✔ Building balanced meals that keep your blood sugar steady and energy up
✔ Planning ahead to skip the all-or-nothing cycle
✔ Nourishing your body consistently (not perfectly!)

A few small tweaks can make a huge difference in how you feel, calmer hormones, steadier energy, and a little more “I’ve got this” energy in your week. 💪

PCOS & insulin resistance: what’s the connection? 🧠💫

When your body isn’t responding to insulin properly, it can make PCOS symptoms so much harder: from hirsutism to cravings to energy crashes and hormone imbalances.

If you’ve been diagnosed with insulin resistance (or suspect you might have it) and feel unsure where to start - you’re not alone.

I’ve been there, and I’ve helped hundreds of women, especially in our South Asian community, learn how to support insulin naturally and finally feel in control again. 💪🏽

✨ Follow for realistic PCOS support, not another trend.

Let’s talk health care burnout.

It can feel confusing, isolating, and honestly just draining trying to manage PCOS (or any chronic condition).

Over time, many of our client conversations go into the tricky “balance” between the high mental load it takes to stay on top of managing PCOS, accepting sometimes they’ll just be there, and figuring out how to live your life alongside it all.

PCOS is a progressive condition. It’s not reversible. There’s no finish line. There’s no “perfection.”

We need better healthcare and research. And can put in the effort to make changes where we can. (Swipe above)

And you also may have to make an important judgment call about how much energy and time you can and want to put into managing PCOS.

So part of the journey is change. And part of it is acceptance and knowing when to stop “trying harder.”

Hopeful + pragmatic - i think these two words summarize it quite well. 💕

You’ve probably noticed your belly feels different around your period. Tight, gassy, uncomfortable, or like pressure that interrupts your day. That’s the kind of bloating we’re talking about.

Here’s the thing: some bloating is totally normal (so let’s not pathologize it), and fullness doesn’t always equal bloating.

That said, if it’s interrupting your day, there’s steps we can take to manage! You know your body best.

Swipe for the who, what, when, where, and why - plus tips to help your period + gut feel better, bit by bit.

Let’s talk disordered eating and hormones.

From delaying puberty, to disrupting menstrual cycles, to worsening menopause symptoms, to increasing risk of death (!!!), disordered eating can affect long-term health in ways that ripple through your body and your life.

All the nutrition knowledge in the world won’t make a difference unless we address disordered and compulsive eating - and understand why it’s hard to implement change.

It’s not just resistance; it’s the bigger picture: past experiences, social pressures, mental load, and the environments we live in.

We need to acknowledge these factors, make space for them, AND find ways to support ourselves compassionately. Recovery isn’t about perfection. It’s about learning to move through the tough stuff toward healing.

You don’t have to do it alone. Work 1-on-1 with our registered dietitians to navigate the challenges, rebuild your relationship with food, and support your hormonal health at every stage of life. 💕

(and remember to work with a qualified therapist! Huge piece of mental health + recovery).
