The Conference Committee is pleased to announce that Susan Green will be presenting the lecture “The Mitzvah Technique: Chair and
Floor Exercise Introduction” at the Healthy Dancer Canada Conference 2022.⁣

Susan Green is a teacher of the Mitzvah Technique - a dynamic approach to posture and spinal problems. The Mitzvah Technique is a remedial and preventative program that gently reeducates postural alignment and body usage. Susan helps dancers utilize the Mitzvah Technique exercises and discipline during dance technique classes, rehearsals, performance, choreography and during daily activities. She gives individual and group Mitzvah Technique sessions and teacher training.

Susan has a B.Sc. in Honours Dance through Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. She danced and choreographed professionally. Her technique, performance quality and choreography were transformed through the Mitzvah Technique. Susan is a Certified Teacher of the Mitzvah Technique and authorized to train Mitzvah Technique Teachers by founder, M.Cohen-Nehemia.

Susan co-supervised with Dr Vickie Galea a 4th year independent study course, “The Power of Movement to Heal. Explorations of Dance and the Mitzvah Technique (2017-18, McMaster University).” She gave presentations at the 2019 IADMS Conference; an interactive movement session “Port de Bras Solutions For Fixated Upper Back and Shoulders Through the Mitzvah Technique” and presented “Integrating the Mitzvah Technique into Dance Technique Class to Help Reduce Fatigue and Dance Injuries.” Susan has taught Mitzvah Technique Classes at Hart House, University of Toronto.

Susan Green B.Sc.(Hon), Certified Teacher of the Mitzvah Technique is authorized by Mitzvah Technique founder/developer, M. Cohen-Nehemia to train Mitzvah Technique Teachers. Susan Qualifies Mitzvah Technique Teachers in a three level teacher diploma course.
