“Encouraging balance in the body throughout pregnancy can significantly improve the birthing experience. Chiropractic care, such as the Webster Technique, works to align the pelvis and reduce tension in the supporting ligaments. This creates space for the baby to move into an ideal position for birth.
In cases where a marginal placenta previa or tight ligaments are affecting the uterus, soft tissue techniques like craniosacral therapy or fascial release can encourage the tissues to relax and unfold, giving the baby more room to position themselves correctly.
Diet and hormonal health also play a crucial role. For instance, low thyroid function is associated with breech presentation and preeclampsia. Regular monitoring and adjustments during pregnancy can support both parent and baby’s health. These interventions aim not to ‘fix’ the body but to support its innate ability to balance and adapt.” –Kristen Hosaka DC, CACCP
