Today marks four years since we opened our doors, and we just want to say THANK YOU!
 
To the amazing families who’ve trusted us and our incredible team who show up with care and compassion every day - this work wouldn’t be possible without you.
 
We started Flourish with the goal of creating a place where families feel supported, seen, and understood. Four years later, that still guides everything we do.
 
Here’s to the years ahead. We’re grateful to be growing with you.

July is Disability Pride Month

At Flourish, we honour and celebrate the identities, culture, and contributions of disabled people, including those who are neurodivergent, chronically ill, sensory-sensitive, or invisibly disabled.

Disability Pride Month reminds us that disability is not a deficit, it’s a natural and valuable part of human diversity. It’s a community, a culture, and a source of strength. This month, and every month, we commit to listening to disabled voices, challenging ableism, and building spaces that are inclusive, and affirming.

The Disability Pride Flag reminds us of the richness of this community, with each colour representing a different type of disability. From visible to invisible, physical to psychiatric, neurodivergent to sensory, every experience matters.

Calling all Adventurers! Register today for our upcoming Dungeon & Dragons sessions starting this Saturday!

Our Dungeons & Dragons groups, designed to ignite creativity, foster social connections, and embark on epic quests.

Group Details:

Ages 9-12: Sessions on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Ages 13-17: Sessions on Sundays from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

Session Dates: February 23rd, March 2nd, and March 16th, 2025

Led by our imaginative Dungeon Master, David Pasoff, these sessions offer a safe and inclusive environment for participants to explore fantastical worlds, solve puzzles, and collaborate on storytelling adventures. Next week, Marie Hooper, Ph.D. is sharing her presentation “Her Spectrum: Girls & Autism”

Marie Hooper, Ph.D. (She/Her) is the founder and director of Flourish Health Services, a neuroaffirming clinician, educator, and advocate specializing in autism in girls, women, and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. A late-diagnosed ADHDer and parent to a neurodivergent child, Marie integrates evidence-based, strengths-focused, neuroaffirming, and gender-affirming approaches into her work.

A recognized Subject Matter Expert for Autism Ontario, she co-founded Club Au-Some, a neuroaffirming space for autistic girls and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and is leading efforts to open North America’s first school exclusively for autistic girls. She also teaches at York University’s Glendon Campus, training future clinicians in inclusive, neuroaffirming care.

Marie is a dedicated advocate for flexischooling and PDA support, working to create more inclusive, supportive environments for neurodivergent individuals and their families.

💡 Whether you are a clinician, educator, researcher, or parent, this session offers invaluable insights into fostering more inclusive, affirming, and supportive environments for autistic girls and youth.

At Flourish Health Services, we believe in the power of shared knowledge and collaboration to drive meaningful change. This group is designed for neurodivergent AFAB (girls & non-binary) youth aged 12-14, identifying as autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD (both autism & ADHD). Our goal is to provide a neuro-affirming supportive social environment for individuals to connect with peers, learn skills, and have fun!
