Why is ferritin more stubborn to raise? 💡

Ferritin is your body’s iron storage, essentially the “savings account” for iron. Even if your hemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells) looks normal, low ferritin means your iron reserves are depleted.

Raising ferritin is slower because your body prioritizes keeping hemoglobin levels stable first. Only after your hemoglobin needs are met does excess iron get stored as ferritin, which is why rebuilding your iron stores can take months.

❓️Fun fact: You can feel tired, weak, or brain-fogged even if your hemoglobin is in range, low ferritin could be the culprit.
