Aphasia Institute

Aphasia Institute Aphasia (uh-fay'-zhuh) is an acquired communication disorder caused by an injury to the brain.

The Aphasia Institute is a community-based centre of excellence, pioneering programs and practices that help the 100,000 Canadians with aphasia learn how to communicate in new ways so they can re-join life’s conversations. Through direct service, research, and education and training, Aphasia Institute has built a reputation as a world leader in aphasia care.

As we turn the page on this year, we’re grateful for the support that brought us here and for the impact still to come.

Your generosity helps remove barriers for people living with aphasia by supporting access to programs and services that foster conversation, comfort, and connection.

A few days left to make a year-end donation and receive a 2025 tax receipt.

End the year by giving the gift of connection and conversations.

Fun morning at CBC’s Make The Season Kind
Campaign, brining communities together help fight hunger and food insecurity.

We snapped pics with CBC hosts, sat in for a recording of That’s Puzzling and hung out with friends having great conversations.
