Last month, Geneva Centre took part in Get Hired: Youth Hiring and Resource Fair 🤝
An event connecting young people ages 16 to 29 with real employers and real job opportunities. It was a great day! Youth came prepared, employers were engaged, and meaningful connections were made 🔗
We are grateful to everyone who attended, organized, and made the day what it was 🙏

🌟 Today is World Autism Acceptance Day.
Acceptance goes further than awareness.
At Geneva Centre for Autism, we show up for acceptance every single day.
Because behind every milestone: a first word, a first job, a first independent ride on the subway, is a family that never gave up, and a team that walked alongside them.
✨ Awareness asks us to notice.
✨ Acceptance asks us to act.
This April, we're inviting Toronto to go further to be part of the support that autistic individuals and their families actually need.
Government funding provides the foundation. Your generosity closes the gap 🤝
April 29th, show up for something that matters 🌟 The 8th Annual ICON & Geneva Centre for Autism Charity Gala.
Your hosts – Alex Christopoulos, CEO of ICON Digital, and Abe Evreniadis, CEO of Geneva Centre for Autism will guide a powerful evening of discussion amongst visionary leaders, advocates, and changemakers.
Alex and Abe embody what this evening is all about: seeing beyond what is visible, celebrating uniqueness, and building a world where every individual is seen, valued, and supported. ✨

Today, we’re proud to highlight our Clinical Behaviour Services Team, a dedicated group of Registered Behaviour Analysts and Behaviour Facilitators who have recently achieved full credentialing in Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT) under the training of FTF Behavioral Consulting 👏
With in-house Trainers, Lead Implementers, and Support Implementers, this expert team is well-positioned to address severe behaviour and support meaningful, lasting change for the individuals and families we serve ❤️
Our recent family movie night turned into something truly special ❤️
For some families, this wasn’t just a night out, it was a first.
A first movie theatre experience. A first moment to simply sit, relax, and feel at ease.
One parent shared she didn’t watch the film. She watched her son enjoy it with a friend and, for the first time in a while, she could simply relax.
Another parent shared how powerful and therapeutic it felt to be surrounded by families who understand 💕
This is why inclusive spaces matter. They create moments of connection, comfort, and belonging. ✨

Sharing Cory’s Story Through Art 🎨
We're proud to spotlight Cory, a member of our Autism Workforce Development Hub, who we've commissioned to provide custom artwork that now lives in our 164 Merton St. building and on our thank-you cards 🖌️
As a child, Cory was nonverbal, and art became his way of communicating. He used pictures to express himself, share ideas, and even demonstrate his learning at school. Today, his artwork continues to be his voice ✨
Cory’s work is a powerful reminder that communication looks different for everyone, and that creative expression is a meaningful and valuable gift.
We recently hosted a GCAConnects Adult session on sexual health in collaboration with Toronto Public Health. The session created space for open questions and practical guidance around body autonomy, boundaries, safety, and building confidence in navigating sexual health conversations 💬
Now, we’re continuing the conversation with a stronger focus on caregivers ⭐️
Our upcoming GCAConnects Sexual Health session for caregivers focuses on the essentials: understanding sexual health, finding trusted resources, and how to start and navigate these conversations. We’ll also explore why these discussions matter and what it means to be an askable caregiver who listens and responds to both verbal and non-verbal communication.

We’re excited to have Rick Peckham back as our MC for the 8th Annual ICON & Geneva Centre for Autism Charity Gala, not for the first time, and hopefully not the last.
When someone truly understands the heart of the event, it shows in every moment. Rick is a graduate of Geneva Centre. He found the confidence and passion to pursue an acting career and is now represented by the Mann Casting Agency.
“It is a privilege and an honour to be part of the ICON & Geneva Centre for Autism Charity Gala. My role as Master of Ceremonies is highly rewarding. It allows me to speak of my personal experiences with the Geneva Centre and reflect the organization's high standards, values, and hard work. Without the Geneva Centre, I would not have the confidence to be a Public Speaker. I hope my story can help inspire others on the spectrum to find their confidence and purpose and improve their lives.”
Thank you, Rick, for being part of our journey and helping us bring this evening to life again 💙
