Linda Rose of Black River Gatehouse is one of Toronto’s more prominent practitioners. From standing behind her table on the North side of the St Lawrence Market, she has moved on to a more personal private practice and Teaching classes on Cranial Sacral Bodywork, Herbal Medicine and Post Traumatic Stress. Consultations are available! Black River Gatehouse is both the name of her company and a physical location, a property on Black River Road just a few hours from Toronto. The property straddles a meandering old River, surrounded by a Wild Lands Provincial Park in the area known as "The Land Between". Healing here is powerful, for when we come back to the land we remember who we really are. We find ourselves again through the silence, the silence of the Wild and the silence of the deep within ourselves where the answers are.

•••Wild crafting is the harvesting of plants for Medicine or Food from their natural growing state. Linda says Wild Crafting is as much about Stewardship of the land as about the Plants that are gathered. Ethical Wild Crafting begins with respect for the Plants and the elements in the ecosystem•••

Dealing almost exclusively in the Medicinal Herbs from the Ontario bioregion, Linda fills a valuable role in a market dedicated to local products. The Herbs Linda provides are respectfully wild crafted or carefully grown without pesticides and artificial fertilizers. As herbal awareness winds its way into the health and wellbeing mainstream, Linda’s customers value her Teas and Herbal Blends as something distinct.

The wind today is blowing in something new, perhaps a new weather system, Spring on the way, early 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

This unique plant is called Prairie Smoke; she only grows on the clay Alvars of Ontario which runs through the Carden Plain, up towards Manitoulin Island
I made a Flower Remedy last year from this plant! A year when the fields and open areas were purple with the abundance of these flowers!
Any one out there want to try the Flower Remedy??
It has yet to be proven . . .

The first PTS (post traumatic stress) is off to the land next week! Having completed ten classes the group is graduating to a weekend wilderness adventure!

THE NEXT PTS class begins this Tuesday June 16th. A late start has mean several people have dropped out and there are still 3 spaces open !!

Tomorrow marks the end of my time at the St Lawrence St Lawrence Market❗️I am moving on now . . . as the Market moves into new phase of construction and renewal, I am going back to my land🐢
This summer I will take people north for Wilderness Adventures and for learning about the Plant Medicines in the field!!
I look forward to seeing many of you join me!!
The celebration of the Market completion is Sunday May 31
In the South Maples courtyard at Bain Co-op 100 Bain Avenue
Starts at 4pm - 8pm, potluck so being your special dishes to contribute! The fire will start at dusk, so bring your marshmallows too!
