Coming this Sunday Ron Reid and Marla Meenakshi Joy at Beach Yoga Centre on JUNE 15TH! Join us for a day of fun and exploration as we move together into bliss. Former owners of Downward Dog Yoga Centre, Ron and Marla are back to teach at BYC with their incredible knowledge, care, laughter and passion.

🔘10AM-12PM:  SHANTI PULSE VINYASA CLASS (Level 1 and up)
This class is set to the Swaha recording of “Shanti Pulse”, a 1 hour and 40 minute piece of music that uplifts and inspires the practice.  In shanti pulse, peace chants weave their way through electro-acoustic ambient grooves, while Ron and Meenakshi blend elements of Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga into a transformative experience.  The blend of prayer, pulse and trance-inducing spaces takes us on a journey to find the breath and ride it into both an earthy and transcendental experience. We will close out our journey with a short yoga nidra practice...leading into a final closing chant that we will sing together to bring in more light!!

🔘12:30pm-2:30pm:  “BACKBENDS; DEEPER, SAFER”; (Level 1 and up)
In order to liberate our energy in backbends, we first need to discover ways of working that allow us to find balance through the whole body. This requires stabilizing and strengthening in some areas, and extending and opening other areas.

We will be exploring some of the poses from 2nd and 3rd Series (with lots of
modifications) as they contain all of the components necessary for developing both deeper and more balanced backbends. This can also lead us to the exploration of dropping back and standing up!
