⛵️ Able Sail Toronto is a 2026 “Sailing for All” Grant Recipient! 🌟
We’re thrilled to share that Able Sail Toronto has been selected by Sail Canada as one of 24 clubs and schools across the country to receive funding through the 2026 Sailing for All initiative, supported by Sport Canada’s Community Sport for All Initiative.

This national program helps expand inclusive, community‑based sailing opportunities — especially for individuals from underserved or underrepresented groups, including persons with disabilities.

For us, this funding directly supports our mission to provide accessible, empowering, and barrier‑free sailing experiences on Toronto’s waterfront.

A huge thank‑you to Sail Canada Voile Canada, Sport Canada, and to our incredible sailors, volunteers, and supporters. Your passion keeps our program thriving and ensures more people can discover the freedom and joy of being on the water.

Get ready, Toronto — Mobility Cup 2027 is coming!

From August 23–27, 2027, Able Sail Toronto and the National Yacht Club will proudly host Canada’s premier regatta for sailors with disabilities. For five unforgettable days, Toronto’s waterfront will come alive as competitors take to the water in Martin 16 keelboats, racing in the Silver and Gold fleets.

This is more than a regatta — it’s a celebration of possibility, community, and the power of inclusive sport. Sailors from across Canada, the United States, and beyond will gather to test their skills on the racecourse, connect with friends old and new, and experience the vibrant hospitality of the National Yacht Club through a series of exciting social events.

Mobility Cup welcomes anyone with a significant disability, whether they’re seasoned racers or first‑time sailors discovering the joy of the sport. Each year, approximately 50 competitors participate, making it one of the most anticipated adaptive sailing events in North America. With its rotating host cities and international draw, Mobility Cup continues to grow as a beacon of accessibility and excellence.

At its heart, Mobility Cup champions a simple but powerful message: sailing is for everyone. Known as the "regatta of possibilities," it brings together newcomers and veterans alike, proving that the water is a place where barriers fall away and confidence, independence, and camaraderie take the lead.

It takes 100 volunteers to bring an event like this to life. Want to be part of something extraordinary? Join us for volunteer training this May. Reach out to us to get on the volunteer list!

Three dear people made sizeable donations to Able Sail Toronto in the past few weeks. I am touched beyond words, and grateful for your generosity.
There is a lovely idea in the Celtic tradition that if you send out goodness from yourself, or if you share that which is happy or good within you, it will all come back to you multiplied ten thousand times. In the kingdom of love there is no competition, there is no possessiveness or control. The more love you give away, the more love you will have.
This is an excerpt from the book "Anam Cara", written by John O'Donohue
Sending you love on this Valentine's Day, and always.
