What a fantastic day filled with celebration, laughter, and great company. We enjoyed lively entertainment, delicious tacos topped with fresh salsa, and refreshing tropical drinks bursting with pineapple and papaya flavors. 🍍🥭
It was one of those days where everything just felt right—good food, good vibes, and smiles all around. Truly a celebration enjoyed by all. Have a peek at the fun and memories we made! 💃✨

🎉 April Birthday Celebration 🎉 last week, we had such a wonderful time celebrating all of our April birthdays! A special thank you to Carl Stedmond for joining us for the first time — he truly made the day unforgettable.
Carl was incredibly engaging and uplifting, with a unique gift for bringing out the fun in everyone. His energy and positivity lit up the room, and it was clear that everyone loved having him with us. We’re already looking forward to welcoming him back again soon — and of course, seeing that lively smile again! 😊

Happy National Physicians' Day to Dr. Ung, who serves not only the residents of McCowan Retirement but also the surrounding neighborhood. We are fortunate to work alongside such a dedicated individual who provides essential care to our residents.

Fun fact about Dr. Ung: he is a devoted Montreal Expos fan and attended their very last game on September 29, 2004.

More Highlights...We recently set sail on an unforgettable armchair journey to the Titanic! 🚢 With beautiful props and captivating visuals, Zahra from George Brown brought history to life through an engaging and informative presentation. Residents were fully immersed in the experience—it truly felt like stepping back in time as passengers aboard the ship. From receiving their own boarding passes to posing for photos by the grand staircase, every detail added to the magic. One of the most powerful moments was dipping our hands into ice-cold water, offering a small but striking glimpse of what it might have felt like to enter the frigid ocean. It was a beautifully done and highly interactive experience that our residents thoroughly enjoyed!

This week we celebrated the last day with our incredible Lifestyle students who have been with us since September. Coming from George Brown College, Centennial College, and Seneca College, they brought so much energy, compassion, and support to our community. Over the past months, they made a real difference in the lives of those around them, and we are so grateful for the care and dedication they showed every single day. We sent them off with a small celebration and certificates to recognize their hard work, but more importantly, to thank them for the impact they’ve made.
We wish each of them all the best as they continue their journeys—there’s no doubt they will keep making a meaningful difference wherever they go, just as they did with us. 💙

Our amazing residents have been busy stepping into the spotlight, taking part in an exciting upcoming movie 🎥🌟From rehearsing scenes to sharing plenty of laughs behind the scenes, it’s been a truly unforgettable experience.
