Bikram Yoga Toronto East Bikram Yoga Students of all levels practice together. One learns to work as deeply as one's flexibility allows. Yoga is a science 5,000 years old.

The Bikram Method is practiced in a heated room to ease muscles and joints, prevent injury and aid the healing of existing injuries, as well as promoting detoxification through sweating. Bikram Choudhury scientifically designed this 90 minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness, injury and the limiting effects of ageing. Bikram specifically tailored this series to systematically move fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body - to every organ, bone, joint, muscle, ligament, tendon, tissue, fibre, blood vessel, nerve and gland. Bikram says: "The roots of your hair and fingernails will feel it, your teeth, your eyes, your face, All." Vibrant good health and a sense of well being will automatically follow. Of equal importance is the principal that physical exertion and relaxation operate most effectively simultaneously. The control of breathing (Pranayama) and the cantering of concentration accomplish this. Each posture is followed by a brief relaxation during which the body can process the benefits of the preceding pose. One leaves the class feeling rejuvenated, not exhausted. It is unrivalled as a means of improving body health, strength and suppleness, of releasing stress, improving concentration, balance and determination and calming the mind. How quickly you progress will depend entirely on you -- upon your natural ability to a small extent, but mostly upon the time and effort you give to Yoga. It will have little to do with how "perfectly" you can do the poses. Few of us ever do the poses "perfectly". Instead, it will have to do with how well you understand what you are trying to accomplish in each pose, how you try to accomplish your goal, and how supple your muscles and joints have become in comparison to the point at which you began. In Yoga there is no standard of comparison except yourself. To be 'Perfect' in Yoga is to do the best you can do.

Dear Friends,

I write this with a heavy heart, as of today the studio will be closed indefinitely.

The Bikram Yoga Toronto East studio operation has been financially unsustainable for some time now.

It has been my goal to provide a place of growth, inspiration and the healing benefits of yoga, designed to enrich our lives. The tools that yoga provides helps us deal with ever growing stress in our daily lives.

Over the past 10 years we have strived to do exactly this, and we have enriched our lives by getting to know all of you. I hope that the future will permit me to offer you the benefits and services of yoga and osteopathy through a sustainable model.

We thank you all for practicing with us and hope that you will continue to strive to live a life of balance and health. I too will strive to achieve this for myself as I move forward in my life.

A Conscious Parenting Approach to Power Struggles
How to Reduce or even Eliminate power struggles with your kids

In this Workshop we are going to deeply examine the idea of power struggles.

Power struggles start from an early age.
They can be so difficult to deal with.
The feeling of being disrespected or disregarded is very painful.

We will look at what is underneath the power struggles, examine what the causes.

We will discover ways of working with power struggles so
that they become something our kids truly benefit from.
And in doing so they will decrease and even disappear.

The conscious parenting philosophy helps people create more harmonious and connected relationships with their children.

It teaches a way of working with kids without having to use punishments, consequences or yelling.

Instead we use communication, cooperation, education, reasoning and connection.

Presenter: VIVEK PATEL
Vivek has been teaching Conscious Parenting concepts to families for over 10 years. He’s been practicing them for 20!

He is also on the admin team for one of the largest parenting groups on facebook with over 13,000 members. The group is called Gentle Parents Unite.

The ideas he shares have helped mend many broken relationships between parents and their kids and bring more peace and harmony to families.

He cares deeply about empowering parents to develop more harmonious relationships with their kids using a simple and powerful parenting model.
