I start my day with 5 minutes of gratitude - taking a few moments to focus on the blessings in my life and I finish my day by revisiting those blessings.
I started because Tony Robbins and Rachel Hollis said it was a good idea at conference I attended many years ago.
I started because I was struggling in my life at the time.
I started because it seemed easy enough to add in to my routine.
I have filled many journals with gratitude and with blessings and while I started because ‘they told me to’ I continue because my gratitude practice keeps me grounded. It has been a life line during difficult seasons when joy and love and hope felt far away, gratitude has still been within reach.
I continue because it feels good to focus my attention on the gifts, the light, the warmth in this world.
I know there is a lot of hurt, suffering, hardship, injustice, fear, and hate in our world but focusing on that doesn’t bring me peace or hope or love.
I need to focus on what is right here unfolding for me day in and day out, in order to stay rooted and grounded and grateful.
I am grateful for gratitude and the medicine it has provided me these past 8years.
When the world feels dark, look for the light. ✨

✨I am wondering...
🤔I am wondering why health is continuing to decline even though we have more science and information than ever?
🤔I am wondering why our government continues to promote injections but not whole foods?
🤔I am wondering why we continue to treat lifestyle diseases with pills rather than lifestyle?
🤔I am wondering why even though we know how to take care of ourselves, it is not our number one priority?
🤔I am wondering why we spend so much money treating disease rather than trying to prevent it?
🤔I am wondering why we think quantity is more important than quality?
🤔I am wondering how long we can continue on this path?
🤔I am wondering...as I often do, and while I don’t pretend to have all of the answers...I just want to stay in this space of wondering.
🤔There is medicine here for all of us.
✨Let’s wonder.

I am so excited to share Cedar and Sage Wellness with you. This is much more than a brand, it is an invitation to reconnect to who you are and what you need. It is inspired by my own wellness and healing journey and is a space where people are invited to come together, to slow down, to pause, to reflect, to gather wisdom, to share, to care, to hold space, to awaken, to nourish and above all else to connect. I built this because it carried me through a difficult season in my life and because your heart might need this too. Let's connect. 💕

I feel like I am just arriving in the energy of 2026; it took a little longer than usual to land here. I needed more time to process and reflect on the year past and to get clarity on what I want and need to welcome in this coming year.
2025 was full of adventure and travel - from Mexico to BC, French River, Quebec, Colorado, Utah and Arizona. I got to scratch an itch and visited some of the most magical landscapes I ever could have imagined.I deepened my connection with nature and honoured my growing desire to immerse myself in the lake, the forest, and the mountains.
It was a year full of family and friends, laughter and tears, rewards and challenges, trust and surrender.
It was a year of saying ‘yes’ to new opportunities and saying ‘no’ to people and habits that drain my energy.
It was a year committed to building a home for community medicine and the birth of Cedar and Sage Wellness. A journey that was both exciting and vulnerable, urgent and slow moving, uplifting and exciting while also eliciting fear and doubt along the way.
A year committed to getting stronger physically and rekindling ties with an old love interest of mine...running. Meeting friends both new and old, on the trails and the boardwalk, for conversations and connections that fed my soul. It was full of the buzz and rush of life with kids activities, concerts, races, competitions, recitals and all the stuff that makes my heart swell. I played the role of chef, chauffeur, cleaner, therapist, good cop, dog walker, bad cop, ND, community builder/member and all of these roles, a reminder that life is in full swing. I feel blessed. It was an incredible year. It is a beautiful life.
Navigating this busy and beautiful life with ease and grace, is often where I struggle. Overwhelm is my go-to emotion. The urgency at times, can make me feel on edge. The pace sometimes costs me my peace.
.
My intention/focus/practice for this coming year is to find more moments for pause, to call in more moments of presence, to embrace the buzz as a gift and above all else to stay connected to peace. 🕊️ ✨🧘🏼‍♀️
Cheers to 2026. What are you welcoming in this year?

I have not posted about this - mostly because it pains me to remember the way my brother’s life was taken, and also because my dad is advocating for this important cause as President of the Toronto Chapter of . But I feel called to post this after the interaction that I had last night with an impaired driver.

At 7:25pm, on my way to pick up my son from gymnastics I came across what I thought was a delivery vehicle, sitting diagonally in the middle of the road, with his left signal on, and the driver looking at his phone. I thought maybe it was someone doing a delivery and needing to double check the address but after sitting there for 30 seconds waiting for this van to move, I hopped out of my car to ask if he could move over so I could get by. He got out of his car and asked me what the address was. I had a hard time understanding him as he was speaking broken English but I grabbed my phone to figure out the street name and gave that to him. He then wanted the house number which I couldn’t see so he started walking toward someone who had just come out of their house. I knew immediately watching him stumble his way over to talk to the man, that he was intoxicated. I was now able to make sense of why his car was in the middle of the road, why he wasn’t able to look up an address on his phone and why he was stumbling. I asked him if he had been drinking and he laughed. He told me he was messaging his brother to come pick him up and not to worry. I took a picture of his license plate. I told him not to move his car and that it was illegal for him to be driving in that state. He laughed at me again. I got back in my car and called the police to report an impaired driver. I don’t know how this story ended because I had to leave to pick up my son. But I know that Rob’s life ended because someone decided to get behind the wheel when they were impaired. Impaired driving costs lives. Let’s keep our roads safe by each doing our part this holiday season and always. 🙏🏻💙

The beautiful space between struggle and strength. The delicate place between fear and freedom.
These moments in time that allow me to feel so incredibly alive.
What a gift.
What an honour.
What a ride.
What a beautiful planet.
My legs are heavy with fatigue.
My mind is full of new memories.
My heart is beaming with gratitude.
My spirit is feeling light.
Thank you Mother Nature for always helping me find my way back ‘home’.
You are my medicine.

Having spent much of her life disconnected from herself—combatting self-deprecating thoughts, distant from her feelings, estranged from the essence of who she truly was—she knew something had to change.
It did not happen by chance.
It did not happen overnight.
It was not without effort, consistency and courage.
But once she began the quiet, brave work of turning inward—of listening, of loving, of honouring - her whole life changed.
She began to better know herself.
She began to trust her intuition.
She began to connect to the wisdom of her heart.
She finally belonged fully to herself.
And as she connected more deeply to her truest self, she came to understand that what she wanted more than anything was to be in community with others who were on similar journeys.
She wanted to create opportunities where we could do this work together.
She wanted to find places where we could practice, coming home to ourselves.
Opportunities for us to slow down in order to deepen our connections.
And so she built Cedar and Sage Wellness in pursuit of that dream.
This past year she hosted 4 community fires, 4 community brunches, 4 community workshops, and 16 community walks. And the journey has only just begun.
Cheers to connection and belonging, not just to ourselves, but to each other.

✨SELF-AWARENESS✨ is one of the top predictors of success.
How well you know yourself impacts every aspect of your life - your health, your work, your relationships with yourself and with others.
Self awareness is about your ability to understand your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
It is about recognizing how your inner values align with your outer actions.
It is about really knowing yourself and being honest with yourself about your strengths and your weaknesses.
It is about owning where you are, who you are and how you are.
And getting clear on where you want to be, who you want to be and how you want to be.
The space in between these two versions of ourselves, is the disconnect that so many of us feel at the core of our lives.
It takes courage to recognize and acknowledge all of the different parts of ourselves.
It can feel uncomfortable and vulnerable to want change or to want more for ourselves.
But when we lean into this gentle practice of better understanding all of these aspects of ourselves, it elevates the quality of our lives and results in a deeper connection to our lives and by default to our health.
Let’s get curious.
Let’s go deeper.
Let’s allow ourselves time and space to explore.
To ask more questions.
To get more aware.
There is medicine here for all of us.
Let’s ‘go there’.

💊We cannot keep treating lifestyle diseases with pills.
💊I am not just talking about prescriptions, I am also talking about supplements and vitamins.
🫒We need to address lifestyle diseases with lifestyle.
🫒I know that implementing lifestyle changes can feel like a lot.
💊I know that sometimes we need an ‘easy button’, a short- cut or some acute symptom relief.
🫒But let’s not underestimate the importance of diet, movement, sleep, stress management and connection.
🫒These are the pillars, the foundation, the game-changers.
🫒These are the tools, the levers and the original medicines.
❤️I am not here to create work for you, nor to point fingers or play the blame or shame game.
❤️I am here on a mission to empower you in your wellness journey and I know that it can be confusing and overwhelming to navigate this space.
❤️So this is me, planting a small seed/reminder that while we can overcomplicate things and look for advanced maneuvers and fixes; we can also keep it really simple.
❤️We can shift our focus to getting into bed earlier, to eating more vegetables and protein, to moving our body more regularly, to taking a few deep breaths, to staying connected to ourselves and the needs of our physiology.
❤️I am here to help you simplify and to help you navigate the journey and to talk about the elephants in the room. 🐘🤓❤️

Empower. Inspire. Heal.

I am passionate about health and believe that it is our greatest asset. Health, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease.” Many of us are struggling with different aspects of our health and it is not always an easy path forward. My role as a naturopathic doctor is to provide knowledge, motivation and guidance to support you on your path to optimized health. Our well-being is our lens through which we experience our world so let’s make sure that lens is as ‘clean’ as possible.
