For many of us, the most difficult part of coping with our pain is the overwhelming sense that we are alone and the feeling that we should never talk about it. The weight of that loneliness and silence can be crushing. It can often make healing feel out of reach. Heal Her Heart is here to assure you that it isn’t. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to giving survivors a safe space and a he

lping hand to continue the work towards their journey of healing. Through expressive holistic healing modalities, therapeutic programming and workshops, and compassionate group and individual counselling; we’re working to change the narrative for survivors living through trauma. Womxn's healing requires a womxn-centered approach. That’s why our organization employs a feminist lens that is inclusive and intersectional. At the core of what we do is the belief that broken hearts can be whole again. We hold our organization to the highest standard in ensuring that every womxn we reach with our work is helped, not harmed. We respect the courage it takes to share stories of trauma. Our counsellors maintain 100% confidentiality and anonymity is guaranteed on our storytelling platform. Trauma does not discriminate and neither do we. We welcome women of all races, ages, religions and nationalities to use our services. Because broken hearts can be whole again.

DBT SKILL: OPPOSITE ACTION

🩷 Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but has been specifically modified for those seeking strategies to manage challenging emotions and triggers, develop techniques to feel safe, and navigate difficult situations as they arise.

🩷 DBT includes four skill modules; with two acceptance-oriented skills (Mindfulness and Distress Tolerance) and two change-oriented skills (Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness).

🩷 Opposite Action is an Emotion Regulation skill used to help you identify whether or not your actions make sense in the moment & how to manage them.

🩷 Use Opposite Action when the emotions do not fit the facts.
