Halloween originates backs to a Celtic tradition that would mark the end of summer and harvest, and the beginning of the darkness and cold. It was a way for folks to acknowledge the transitions of life, the yang turning into yin. Back then the weak and the frail would have a hard time lasting through winter days. Death rates would always spike in that particular season. As a result, October 31st became a dedicated celebration to bring mindfulness to Celtic communities, summoning its people to look death in the eyes and not be afraid, to recognize that every life carries death within it, and every death in turn gives seed to a new life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In spirit of this tradition let’s celebrate the death of old ideas that did not suit us, thoughts that no longer serve us, and actions that fail to move us forward. Let’s welcome the birth of a new mindset to motivate us, new belief system to encourage us, and new habits to cary us forward.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!

Why do I meditate, you ask? Because it allows me to dive into my very own space of bliss, my infinite pharmacy of happiness. Where the external noise of stressors, fears, worries, insecurities, and disappointments quiet down to an inaudible hum. Even science shows us indisputable evidence that the practice of meditation has a positive influence that goes way beyond the mental-emotional sphere. We see it decrease pain perception, reduce cholesterol levels, stabilize breathing and oxygen utilization, and even down-regulate the expression of disease promoting genes. I can go on, of course, but no amount of words will ever come close to describing the truly personalized experience of your very own meditative practice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re new to meditation and enjoy music I highly recommend sound bath meditations with Susy Schieffelin!
