Move with confidence & find your centre ~ at every stage of life. For me it was my big toe… I had started practicing yoga to help relieve stress while I was attending Physiotherapy School. During one of my first classes an incredible instructor gave a subtle cue about my big toe while in triangle pose. Unexpectedly I felt an amazing opening along the side of my body and that was it, the pose and m

y life were forever changed! From that moment on I became passionate about exploring the body through yoga and learning to integrate the principles of yoga with my knowledge as a Physiotherapist. Through my studies I came to learn that yoga was much more than just the physical experience that I was so focused on. I began to see the way a consistent practice brought balance and light to my life and a deeper understanding of my true self. As a teacher my goal is to share this light with my students and for each student to leave the class feeling as though it was meant just for them. I look forward to sharing this practice with you!

One of the top questions I get asked is, “how can I make it easier to actually do my physio exercises?”
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I get it!
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even as a physio I have trouble fitting my own exercises and movement breaks in.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I decided to compile my top 10 tips for getting those exercises done in my newest blog (Link in bio).
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let me know what you think and share if you have any other strategies that help you stay on track with your exercises.

What lights me up as a physio? ✨

Connection!
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whether it’s helping you connect to your core muscles or a different way of moving, or connecting on your goals and on what you value in your physiotherapy care.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me connection is where the magic happens!🪄
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Physio and allied health friends what lights you up in your practice?
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And for client’s, what are you looking for in your Physio/health care provider ?
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let’s make some connections…

I’m feeling so refreshed and inspired as I return to work post maternity leave. One thing helping me stay centred is enjoying 3 days in the clinic and 2 days with this guy!
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some of the things I’m loving helping client’s with these days are:
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Supporting your body and recovery of your core and pelvic floor function post baby.
- Helping manage symptoms and gain confidence being active after incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse symptoms.
- Helping parents and children navigate bladder or bowel accidents, constipation and bed wetting.
- Helping client’s move past a persistent injury and re-gain confidence in being active.
- Helping client’s shake up their posture habits and find new movement strategies.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some things I’m loving in this stage with a 1 year old: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Morning playtime together at the EarlyON program
- Nature walks and talks with good company
- Hearing new words like “Mama”!
- Watching how much he loves his big brothers!

I am so excited to be sharing my first online workshop offering! 👩‍💻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love that while on maternity leave I can continue to help support families navigating paediatric pelvic health challenges.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After taking training in this area in order to help my own children, it sparked a passion in me to help other parents and children navigate these often tricky situations with calmness and confidence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love seeing the shift that happens in both parents and kiddos when we start to find their “bladder boss” confidence!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What we will cover:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🧻Strategies to help ease stress on parents and children navigating bathroom accidents and constipation at home or at school. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔨Tools to help children connect what their body is feeling with successful toileting skills and behaviours. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🗣Reframing our language to help encourage our child’s brain body connection with confidence.

About Centred Physiotherapy

One of the foundations of the physiotherapy profession is offering patient “Centred” care. That means care that takes into account all aspects of a patient’s life. Things like your work, your hobbies, your responsibilities, your goals, the things that nourish you and even the things that stress you.

Sarah believes exceptional care happens when both the therapist and client are “Centred” and working on these shared meaningful goals. For Sarah this is achieved by scheduling ample time and by offering one-on-one visits in the comfort of your home. Sarah’s approach is grounded in extensive post-graduate training, clinical experience and evidence-based practices.

Sarah gets to the “Centre” of the problem at hand by using an integrative approach to treatment including a detailed biomechanical exam, advanced training in manual therapy, thoughtful prescriptive exercise, and complementary tools such as acupuncture, yoga and mindfulness practices.

Through supportive listening Sarah connects with each client around what is meaningful to them and eagerly works with other health care providers such as family physicians and allied health practitioners to create a team approach to care.
