When I was learning tarot, I thought I needed to memorize everything. Between the images, the symbolism, and the numbers, it felt like I’d never know enough to give a “real” reading.
Everything shifted when I stopped trying to get it right and started having a conversation with the cards (losing the guidebook for a couple of years also helped).
This is what I’m teaching in the Tarot Intensive.
We cover the foundations, but more importantly, you practice and receive feedback from me. You learn how the cards talk to each other and how to hone your intuition so you can trust what you’re seeing and what they’re saying.
By the end, you’ll be doing real readings.

I found tarot in Calgary in the late eighties — before the internet, before you could just Google a reader. You had to know someone who knew someone. I got lucky, and found Erica: a broom-toting, spell-casting witch who brought out a deck one day and that was it. Obsession at first sight.
But after that initial mentorship, I was on my own. For the next three decades, it was just me, the cards, and 10,000 hours of trial, error, and practice. Corporate jobs by day, tarot readings at lunch (that’s honestly how I didn’t get fired).
I had to figure out the hard way how I read like me. Not like the witches on tv or Mystic Mandy at the psychic fair. I was a mom in the suburbs who couldn’t NOT do tarot and eventually I said screw it, my style of tarot is basically Woo Woo Without the Cuckoo and this is me.
That’s when everything changed.

I’ve been reading tarot cards for 30 years (!) and even when I worked a corporate gig, I always had my cards close by (confession: giving readings to my clients was the only thing that kept me from getting fired from at least 2 jobs…)#truestory
I’ve done virtual readings for many years, so moving everything online last month was (thankfully) pretty easy. I even do tarot parties online now (they’re SO fun!) and have Zoom-bombed a couple of birthday parties to give surprise tarot readings!🥳
My intention has always been to inspire, empower and enlighten. My vibe is ‘woo woo without the cuckoo’ - I’m totally into this stuff without being, you know, nuts. ⠀⠀
I don’t talk about death and dying because spoiler alert: we’re all gonna die. I’d rather focus on what’s happening now - this one life you’re living in this body in this moment - to help you reach your potential and meet your purpose.👊🏼
I live just outside Toronto with my husband, 2 kids and dog. The teens are wildly unimpressed and fairly uninterested in what their mom does for a living.
My husband is incredibly supportive and respectful of what I do, but you won’t find him on social media unless it’s on my feed because he haaaaates it (honestly, he joined Facebook a few years ago for like 20 minutes).🙅🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️
These 3 humans are the funniest, coolest people I’ve ever met and they can make me cry and laugh and rage and get weak-kneed from the intensity of my love for them all in less than a minute.
In addition to tarot, I’m also a writer. I do the odd freelance project, but my main gig (and great joy) is writing for the @obakkifoundation and I’ve been lucky enough to travel on 2 humanitarian trips to Cameroon.
