OCA’s CEO Caroline Brereton had a great exchange with third year students at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) this week to talk about Cultural Authority & newsworthy developments. She discussed trends in chiropractic care, clinical outcomes data, research, and exciting news – including the government consultations on proposed changes to authorize chiropractors to order MRIs, CT scans and diagnostic ultrasounds for patients. She shared recent IPSOS data showing that an overwhelming majority of patients – 97 percent – support chiropractors in Ontario being authorized to directly order these tests so that patients can get the care they need sooner.

Caroline highlighted the opportunity for CMCC students to get involved in these consultations by participating in the OCA’s letter-writing campaign and sending a letter to their MPP (visit https://chiropractic.on.ca/helping-ontarians/making-a-difference/ to get your letter). Government consultations on these proposals close on Monday, Nov 3rd – you still have time to send a letter to support these changes.
