At Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice, connection is at the heart of care. Through simple conversations, our volunteers bring comfort and presence to those who need it most.

Whether it’s sharing a story, offering a listening ear, or checking in with a thoughtful call, these moments remind us that care extends far beyond the clinical. It lives in compassion, in listening, and in the humanity we offer one another every day.

Once upon a time, these were just moments—snapshots of who we were, without knowing where life would lead.

Today, those stories have led us here—becoming the people behind the care.

At Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice, our team brings compassion, dignity, and humanity to every moment of the end-of-life journey.

This is what care looks like: a community of people coming together to create connection, comfort, and support when it matters most.

This is who we are, then and now 🤍

Companionship is one of the most meaningful forms of care we can offer.

At Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice, our volunteers play a vital role in creating moments of connection, presence, and comfort for those in our care. Whether it’s sitting beside someone, sharing a quiet conversation, or simply being there, these acts of companionship remind each person that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Volunteering in this way is more than giving time — it’s offering humanity, dignity, and heart in its purest form.

We are deeply grateful to those who choose to walk alongside others in these moments. Your presence makes all the difference.

Recently, Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice was honoured to welcome Theresa Laird from SE Health, alongside Mike Calnek and Adam James from Collective IQ.

They spent time with our team capturing the heart of Journey Home Hospice — our people. Each day, our staff and volunteers bring compassion, dignity, and presence to those in our care, and it was truly special to see that spirit reflected through their lens.

We are deeply grateful for the care, respect, and sensitivity you brought into this space. Journey Home Hospice, a program of Saint Elizabeth Foundation, is rooted in profound humanity, and it was evident that this was honoured in every interaction.

To our volunteers and team members, thank you. Your commitment is the living expression of compassionate care in action.

Moments like these stay with us and reflect the strength and heart of this community.

Our Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice Windsor team is grateful for the generosity we receive each day from the Windsor-Essex community.

Recently, we welcomed our friends Sherri and Kevin from the Rose City Community Assistance Fund, who stopped by to present a generous $2,000 donation in support of our Journey Home Hospice Windsor site. As a local initiative, the Fund is dedicated to supporting community needs, including improving food accessibility and helping individuals, families, and seniors facing food insecurity across the region.

Thanks to donations like these, we are able to continue caring for some of the most vulnerable in our community, keeping them close to home and surrounded by dignity, compassion, and support.

Thank you, Kevin, Sherri, and everyone at the Rose City Community Assistance Fund for thinking of Windsor-Essex’s most vulnerable at the moments they need it most.

A small act of kindness can bring meaningful comfort. 🧶

We are grateful to Dinah, owner of Luxton Woman, for her generous donation of handmade cashmere-blend beanies to the Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice. These thoughtfully crafted pieces are now reaching individuals in our care community and making a real difference.

Many of our residents arrive with very few personal belongings. Warm clothing, especially during the winter months, makes an immediate and meaningful impact to comfort and dignity. These beautiful beanies have been shared with residents at Journey Home Hospice and with individuals supported through outreach and community partnerships who may be facing the cold without adequate winter wear.

We are deeply grateful for this generosity and for the care and intention behind each piece. Acts like Dinah's remind us that compassion lives not only in the care we provide, but in the community that surrounds us.

Bringing a touch of spring indoors 🌸

The Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice Toronto team recently filled the space with fresh flowers, creating a warm and uplifting environment.

As we prepare for Easter, these simple gestures reflect how care extends beyond the clinical, nurturing dignity, presence, and connection. We believe that even the smallest moments, a fresh bouquet, a shared smile, a softened space, can bring comfort and a sense of home.
