Join us for a fun-filled Community Car Wash on Sunday, July 27th from 10 AM to 2 PM at our Annette Street location! Our team will be rolling up their sleeves and grabbing the hoses to give your car a sparkle—and it’s all for a great cause!

💲 Suggested donation: $10
📍 Where: Cardinal Funeral Home – 92 Annette St.

Act #46 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Supporting the Next Generation of Mets in High Park T-Ball ⚾️🧢

We’re proud to continue our longtime sponsorship of High Park T-Ball, and more specifically the Mets—a team that holds a special place in our hearts. Our President, Jimmy Cardinal, played for the Mets as a 6-year-old back in the early 90s, and the Cardinal family has been supporting the team ever since!

T-Ball is all about giving kids ages 6–8 a fun, supportive environment to stay active, learn the game, and build friendships—and we’re thrilled to help make that possible for families in our Toronto community.

Founded in 1953, High Park Baseball League is one of Canada’s first Little League programs and has a storied history of success, including four national championships and appearances at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

We’re especially proud of the Mets’ 2023 league championship—and we’ve included a team photo to celebrate that win, along with a throwback photo of Jimmy in his Mets uniform as a 6-year-old, ready to swing for the fences!

Here’s to another great season filled with fun, teamwork, and memories in the making. 🧢⚾️

Act #45 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Supporting Free Summer Movies at St. Peter’s Church 🎬🍿☀️

We’re thrilled to once again sponsor St. Peter's Catholic Church - Toronto’s Free Movies in the Courtyard—a beloved summer tradition that brings our Bathurst-Bloor neighbourhood together for evenings of fun, film, and community under the stars.

This past Saturday, the series kicked off with a magical screening of Moana 2, and we were so happy to see families, friends, and neighbours enjoying the warm weather, good company, and popcorn on the parish lawn!

Mark your calendars for the next movie night on Saturday, August 9 at 8:30 PM, featuring Captain America: Brave New World—a perfect summer night out for Marvel fans and movie lovers of all ages. 🎥💥

Bring a friend, bring a blanket, and support the parish by picking up some popcorn and refreshments at the event. We’re proud to continue supporting this fun and inclusive community event—right in our own backyard.

Check out some photos from the first movie night and the poster for the next showing below!

Act #44 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Supporting the 19th Annual Golf Classic for a Great Cause ⛳️🇺🇦🍺

This past Tuesday, we were proud to be a hole sponsor and donate a pair of Toronto Raptors tickets at the 19th Annual St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church Oakville, Ontario Canada Golf Classic held at Royal Ontario Golf Club—a fantastic day of fun and fundraising in support of some truly meaningful causes.

The tournament helps support the financial needs of the Church, the Humanitarian Fund in Ukraine, and the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, where proceeds help fund vital spaces like the Patient Quiet Room, a Nephrology Treatment Station, and a Cardio Assessment Room in the Pacemaker Clinic.

With over 200 golfers, $50,000 raised, and special guests like Mike Krushelnyski on hand—it was, by all accounts, a huge success! The weather was hot, the beer was cold, and the varenyky were unforgettable.

We’re honoured to continue supporting this incredible initiative and the Ukrainian-Canadian community, both on and off the course.

Act #43 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Celebrating Culture and Community at the Senhor Da Pedra Festival 🇵🇹⛪️🎶

This past weekend, we were honoured to sponsor the Senhor Da Pedra Festival at St. Agnes Parish—a vibrant and deeply meaningful celebration rooted in Azorean tradition and cherished by the Portuguese-Canadian community for generations.

Held since the 1970s, this annual festival brings together faith, heritage, and community spirit, inspired by the legend of Senhor da Pedra, whose image is said to have appeared on the shores of the Azores in a wooden box—its origins unknown, but its impact lasting.

Now a beloved tradition here in Toronto, the weekend celebration included live music, traditional performances, incredible Portuguese food (yes, including the crowd-favourite malasadas!), and a moving religious procession that is the true heart of the event.

We are proud to support events like this that honour the legacy of the Portuguese immigrant community, especially in parishes like St. Agnes, which has stood as a beacon of joy, unity, and faith for more than a century.

Act #42 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Spreading Joy Through Art with Campfire Circle 🎨💛🔥

This afternoon, we had the privilege of dropping off a donation of art supplies to our wonderful neighbours at Campfire Circle—an extraordinary organization that supports kids affected by cancer and serious illness with the healing power of creativity, fun, and community.

Located just steps from our Bathurst location, Campfire Circle is much more than a place—it’s a life-changing experience for children and families across Ontario. In addition to their downtown hub, they also operate two overnight camps outside the city, where kids can connect, play, and just be kids, no matter where they are in their journey.

Our team members Jimmy Cardinal, Cindy Ciampa, and Manuela Santos had the joy of delivering the supplies and seeing firsthand the space where so much magic happens. We're honoured to support a cause that brings so much strength and light to families during challenging times.

Check out some photos of the donation, our visit, and the inspiring home of Campfire Circle on Bathurst!

Act #41 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Honouring Canada Day by Supporting Our Heroes 🇨🇦❤️

On this Canada Day, we’re proud to celebrate our country not just with flags and fireworks—but with gratitude and action. In honour of the day, we’ve made a donation to the True Patriot Love Foundation, a national, Toronto-based charity dedicated to supporting Canadian military members, Veterans, and their families.

Since 2009, True Patriot Love has committed over $47 million to more than 1,065 community-based programs across Canada—positively impacting the lives of over 41,000 individuals. From rehabilitation and recovery, to mental health, family support, and reintegration into civilian life, this organization is making a real difference for those who’ve served our country.

We’re thankful to live in a country as beautiful and diverse as Canada, and even more thankful to those who help protect it.

Happy Canada Day, from our family to yours! 🇨🇦

Act #40 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Supporting Casa dos Açores do Ontário’s Holy Spirit Festivities 🇵🇹🕊️

We were honoured to sponsor the Holy Spirit Festivities Week hosted by Casa dos Acores do Ontário, a beautiful tradition deeply rooted in Portuguese and Azorean culture and proudly celebrated right here in Toronto.

From June 15th to 20th, hundreds gathered for the praying of the Rosary in praise of the Holy Spirit, culminating on Sunday, June 22nd with a Mass at St. Helen’s Church followed by the Holy Spirit Procession from the church to Casa dos Açores.

As longtime supporters of the Portuguese-Canadian community, we’re proud to continue showing up for the families and traditions that have supported us for generations. This celebration of faith, culture, and community is one we’re always happy to be part of.

Check out some photos from the week-long festivities, and thank you to Casa dos Açores for keeping this cherished tradition alive in our city.

Act #39 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Celebrating Seniors at Toronto’s Health & Wellness Fair 🐝👵👴

Last Wednesday, our team was proud to take part in the City of Toronto’s 2nd Annual Seniors Health and Wellness Fair at the York Recreation Centre, alongside amazing organizations like Toronto Police Service, Toronto Transit Commission, ESS Support Services - Etobicoke Services for Seniors (ESS), and many more.

The event was all about bringing helpful services and information to seniors in a warm, welcoming setting—complete with free refreshments, friendly conversations, and a strong sense of community. And with June being Seniors Month in Ontario, it was the perfect time to connect and give back.

We were on hand to share information about the important work we do, especially around the benefits of pre-planning, and had some fun with our giveaway: packets of pure honey as a healthy, sweet treat to encourage attendees to “bee” prepared when it comes to thinking about end-of-life arrangements. 🍯💛

Check out the photos of our booth, our wonderful team, and of course, the honey!

Act #38 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Golfing for a Cause with The Unforgettables Fund ⛳️💛

This past Monday, Jim and Jimmy Cardinal joined the Northern Casket team at the Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals fundraising golf tournament held at Richmond Hill Golf Club. It was a beautiful day spent raising money for a cause that’s incredibly close to our hearts - The Unforgettables Fund - Toronto Chapter, which helps families facing the unthinkable loss of a child by easing the financial burden of a dignified funeral.

We’ve been longtime supporters of this incredible charity and are proud to stand alongside others in the bereavement sector in helping make a meaningful impact.

And in a fun twist… our foursome brought home the lowest score of the tournament! 🏆

A big thank you to Northern Casket, a fellow Canadian, family-owned business, and their President Caley Ferguson for hosting us for such a memorable day.

And a special shoutout to Tracy Rossetti of MyBabbo Inc for capturing some of the great photos we’ve included below!

Act #37 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Celebrating Graduates at Lucy McCormick Senior School 🎓🌸🌿

Today, we were honoured to support the Lucy McCormick Senior School—an incredible alternative education program in the Junction for students aged 12–21 with developmental disabilities—by donating nine beautiful bouquets of flowers for their graduating students.

Two of our team members, Mark and Jessica, had the privilege of attending the celebration and were given a wonderful tour of the school’s outdoor gardening projects, led by the amazing Vesna, the teacher behind their thriving botany program.

We were blown away by what the students have planted and nurtured—everything from mint and coriander to tomatoes, lettuce, corn, and radishes—with each class proudly responsible for their own plots. It’s clear that care, growth, and learning are deeply rooted in this school’s culture.

Check out some photos of Mark, Jessica, the Lucy McCormick team, and the floral gifts we were so happy to provide. Congratulations to all the graduates—you inspire us!

Act #36 of Our 100 Acts of Kindness: Supporting the Ukrainian Youth Association’s Golf Tournament ⛳️🇺🇦

Last Friday, we were proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Ukrainian Youth Association - CYM Mississauga’s "Golfing For Our Kids" Tournament at Glen Eagle Golf Club—a fantastic day on the green in support of youth programs and local health-related charities.

In addition to our sponsorship, we also donated a pair of Toronto Maple Leafs tickets for the upcoming season to help make the day even more exciting for participants.

We’re honoured to support organizations like the Ukrainian Youth Association that do so much to empower young people and strengthen the Ukrainian-Canadian community. Дякуємо for letting us be a part of it!
