Ever notice your dog hesitating on walks, moving stiffly, or scuffing their paws on the ground? Changes in gait are one of the earliest signs that something in your dog’s body isn’t working the way it should.

When the spine or nervous system isn’t functioning optimally, dogs may start to “knuckle” — where the top of their paw folds under instead of stepping flat. This can cause dragging, tripping, and uneven wear on their nails. Foot misalignment, muscle imbalance, or compensation from an old injury can also play a role.

These issues rarely resolve on their own. The sooner they’re assessed, the better the outcome for mobility, comfort, and long-term joint health.

If you’re noticing changes in how your dog walks, stands, or uses their feet, chiropractic and acupuncture can help restore balance and support proper movement. A gentle exam can pinpoint what’s going on and get your pup the relief they deserve.

Cold weather has a way of bringing old aches back to life, tight muscles, stiff joints, and those “oof” moments after a slip on the ice. When your body feels tense or out of alignment, even simple daily tasks can feel harder.

Chiropractic can help restore mobility, ease tension, and support better movement so you can stay active and comfortable through the winter months. If you’ve had a recent slip or fall, getting checked can ensure everything is moving the way it should and help prevent lingering issues.

Recurring ear infections can be frustrating for dogs and their humans alike. While ears are often treated as an isolated issue, many people don’t realize how closely connected the ears are to the head, neck, and nervous system.

Tension or restricted movement in the cervical spine can influence head posture, circulation, and drainage around the ears. When those systems aren’t working efficiently, it may contribute to imbalance or recurring irritation in the ear region.

Animal chiropractic and acupuncture focus on supporting proper movement, nerve communication, and circulation throughout the neck and head. When the body is functioning more smoothly as a whole, it’s better equipped to respond to stress and maintain balance — alongside appropriate veterinary care.

If your dog seems stuck in a cycle of recurring ear issues, it may be worth looking beyond the ears alone and considering how the rest of the body is contributing.

Balance and coordination rely on constant communication between your brain, inner ear, eyes, and spine. When the neck isn’t moving or functioning properly, that communication can be disrupted.

Chiropractic helps improve spinal motion and nervous system signaling, which may support better balance, coordination, and confidence in movement.

If dizziness or unsteadiness has become part of your routine, it’s worth exploring the bigger picture.

Important reminder with the weather.

His paws aren't frozen. They are burning. 🔥❄️

When you see your dog limping or lifting a paw on a snowy sidewalk, you think: "Oh, his feet are cold!" Think again. He isn't shivering from the cold. He is reacting to pain.

The culprit isn't the ice. It's the SALT.

🔥 1. The Chemical Fire Road salt (especially Calcium Chloride) doesn't just melt ice. It creates an exothermic reaction. The Science: When it touches the moisture on your dog's paw, the salt activates and releases heat (up to 140°F!). Your dog isn't walking on cold snow; he is walking on invisible chemical embers.

🌵 2. Salt in the Wound Salt sucks the moisture out of the paw pads until they crack. Once the skin splits, the chemicals get into the raw flesh. Imagine walking barefoot on coarse salt with paper cuts on your feet. That is what he feels.

👅 3. The Deadly Lick When you get home, he will lick his paws to soothe the burn. He will swallow that toxic chemical cocktail (leading to gastric distress or kidney stress).

The Survival Protocol:

Wax Up: Use paw wax (like Musher's Secret) or booties before going out.

The Plunge: Rinse paws in a bowl of lukewarm water IMMEDIATELY upon returning. Don't wait. Wipes aren't enough; you need to dissolve the salt.

Avoid the Sidewalk: Stick to fresh snow where possible.

It’s not just cold. It’s acid. Protect them. 🐾

Nerves that control the shoulder and arm originate in the cervical spine. When there’s restricted motion or irritation in the neck, it can show up as:

🔸Pain when lifting your arm
🔸Difficulty reaching overhead or behind your back
🔸Tingling or weakness in the arm or hand
🔸“Frozen” or stiff shoulder movement

Chiropractic focuses on identifying where the problem truly begins, not just where it hurts. By addressing spinal alignment, posture, and joint mobility, we help restore proper movement and reduce strain on the shoulder.

If your shoulder pain hasn’t responded to typical treatments, it may be time to look beyond the shoulder itself.

When most people think of acupuncture for pets, they think of pain relief, but acupuncture can also play a powerful role in supporting the nervous system, especially for anxious or stressed animals.

🐱Pets experiencing anxiety may show signs like:
🐱Pacing or restlessness
🐱Separation anxiety
🐱Noise sensitivity (thunder, fireworks)
🐱Sudden behavioral changes, especially in senior pets

Acupuncture works by helping regulate the nervous system, encouraging the body’s natural calming response. Many pets become visibly more relaxed during and after treatment; not sedated, just better balanced.

If your pet seems constantly “on edge,” it may not be behavioral alone. Supporting their nervous system can make a meaningful difference in their comfort and quality of life.

Digestive issues like bloating, constipation, or sluggish digestion aren’t always just about food. Your nervous system controls how your digestive system functions, and that communication travels through the spine.

When spinal tension or misalignment interferes with nerve signals, digestion can slow down or become inefficient. Chiropractic helps support proper nervous system function — encouraging the body’s natural “rest and digest” response.

Wellness starts from the inside out.
